The finalists of "Nashville Star" and host Billy Ray Cyrus
'Nashville Star'
The search continues for the next great country music act

"Nashville Star" returns for a sixth season with a new network, a new host and some new judges. However, the goal of the reality show remains the same: to uncover America's next great country music star. "Nashville Star" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC throughout the summer. This competition reality show opens up the contest to talent 16 years and older, in addition to duo and trio musical acts. The finalists will vie for a major recording contract with Warner Bros. Nashville and the chance to perform live at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

Now on NBC, "Nashville Star" is hosted by Billy Ray Cyrus, himself no stranger to country superstardom. Three-time Grammy nominee Jewel, singer-songwriter John Rich of Big & Rich and producer-songwriter Jeffrey Steele serve as judges and mentors to the finalists. Each week, finalists perform live at Nashville's Acuff Theatre as viewers decide their fate.
