New Moon Soundtrack

The official "New Moon" soundtrack is now available for pre-order at iTunes! See my post for deets. The album's release date is October 20.

October 7, 2009:

Vanity Fair had the pleasure of chatting with three of the bands on the "New Moon" soundtrack. Alex Brown Church of Sea Wolf talks about their song, "The Violet Hour," and how it's darkness could apply to Bella. He reveals that the song will be featured during a house-party scene. Annie Clark, also known as St. Vincent, talks about seeing "Twilight" with her dreamy-eyed sisters. And last, Tim Nordwind of OK Go confesses that he finds "Twilight" a "pretty entertaining read." His band's song, "Shooting the Moon," will be featured during a montage scene--it's a "thoughtful, acoustic song."

YouTube now has the Official New Moon Sounds Channel! Listen to all the songs on the soundtrack in full. You can even subscribe to the channel, how cool is that. Here's one track, Thom Yorke's "Hearing Damage":

The album cover for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon - The Score" has been revealed on Amazon!

Although composer Alexandre Desplat is scoring the film, "New Moon" will still feature some of the music from "Twilight" that was composed by Carter Burwell. Burwell, as you recall, also wrote "Bella's Lullaby." Desplat's "The Meadow" is track #15 on the official "New Moon" soundtrack.

The album is $16.99 on Amazon, will be released on November 24, 2009.

Awesome news! In its first full week of release, the New Moon soundtrack hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200! The album sold 153,000 copies in the first week (according to Nielsen SoundScan).

Anya Marina's "Satellite Heart" video debuted a couple days ago. The song is sad, melancholy--probably going to be the music during Bella's initial post-Edward comatose state. "October, November, December, January..."
