"New Moon" poster"New Moon," the second book in the series by Stephenie Meyer, is a much darker story than "Twilight." When Edward left Bella after Jasper's attempted attack, she was seriously damaged. Anyone who has ever had their heart broken can attest to that feeling of being broken, being numb. I remember flipping the pages, "October...November...December...January," and thinking, "OMG, what's going to happen to her?!"

Then the sun broke through the clouds, in the form of Jacob Black. He helped her to start living again, to start healing. And just when she seemed like she was starting to turn the corner...the Cullens were back in her life.

She takes off for Italy with Alice, to save Edward from his suicide-by-Volturi scheme. They make it through and return to Forks, but alas, their troubles with the Volturi have just begun.

NEW MOON WAS GREAT! HOWEVER I THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE THE SCENE WHEN BELLA WAKES UP AFTER ITALY BETTER. IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN LONGER AND I THINK EDWARD SHOULD HAVE DONE MORE CONVINCING USING QUOTES FROM THE BOOK.

Totally felt this director did a wonderful job and that it stuck more to the book than the first movie did. Was very impressed and loved the movie. Of course they HAVE to condense b/c it's a movie and every director I've heard always says they would've made a longer movie had the studio allowed it. Just found out Eclipse had a different director...thought I was a super fan, HA! LOL - totally funny to me! I really do love this series though, and I'm not 15, I'm a mother and about to turn 29.

I enjoyed the movie, but found myself judging most of it. This is not a knock, I am just REALLY into the books. I think they did a good job capturing a lot of the key plot/story points. I am going to see it again this weekend for pure enjoyment. I love the soundtrack too which makes the movie incredibly enjoyable. My one and ONLY complaint about the movie, I did not like the way they made the vampires eyes. I thought it was corny and there isn't a chance any of the Cullens could pass for human looking the way they did in New Moon. I hope they go back to the Twilight version for Eclipse. All in all, love it. I love Robert Pattinson and can't wait to see him in other films. I also hope he has a song or two on the Eclipse soundtrack. He's a talented musician with a lot to offer us.

I was so very disappointed in this movie. It was to short and didnt really seem to pull to many key points from the movie. They could have done a better job.

I was disappointed in the brevity of sooo many scenes in New Moon. Example: Carlisle and Esme give her the tickets to Florida and if you didn't read the book the comments made to Bella "looking kind of pale" had no significance. Edward's present of the CD was sooo missed in the movie. Why else would Bella not like music anymore ? Wouldn't know unless you read the book. AAAAHHHHH waiting for Eclipse and DEFINITELY would sit thru a MUCH LONGER movie if they would ELABORATE on the relationships which are vital to the story.

I went and saw New Moon this morning, I finished the book again yesterday and felt that the movie was right on... Chris Weitz did a great job I only hope that David Slade does as well with Eclipse. Taylor, Kristin and Rob cudos!!!! I have read some of the critics reviews and they really need to learn to READ--- there comments were unbelieveable and most were men these movie's are made from good holesome teen adult books what is it--- if no sex, murder and violance the movie sucks? well thats a man for you. I am proud to say I think that these are wonderful movies that provoke emotion in some and actually brings back romance and some challenges along the way for the movie goer. There are not many movies out there that a young adult and adult and senior citizen can go and see and enjoy- and I am of the later generaltion and proud to say I have read all the books 5 times and watched Twilight at least 10 and will see new moon again, and again and buy it on DVD when it comes out- and I am a grandmother of a 7 yo who knows that she has already choosen her pack person Jacob the wolf who by the way is a shapeshifter not a werewolf as I was corrected earlier. Gotta love Alice and Emmett too

I saw the midnight show of "new moon" I was very impressed that I was not the only adult there mostly college students, I didn ot like how it ended but enjoyed the moview a lot, kristen i think did a good job in delaing with the emotion of loosing her love we all have been there her protrail of these emotions had everyone thinking back when that was them, Robert absence was a good was to get people more into the confusing relationship between taylor and kristen rols, i how did not care too much for the jumping in between scence but understand why it was done in this fashion. The one liners were funny but i have a feeling they will not be funny when its on DVD, crowds always makes things more funnier then they are, Over all this was a good moved i hear that the director from the first one is getting flck for her directing skills i for one did not think the movie was bad i for one saw the movie prior to reading any of the books. This director did a good job as well, i just wish he did not end it in that way i just hope the next one picks up where this one left off.

Being a devoted fan to the Twilight series, I was very much diapointed with New Moon. With the lack of emotion, quick scenes, and unfunny dialogue, the movie did not move me the way the book and characters should. The audience is thrown from one scene to another while you are trying to comprehend were in the book the scene/or dialogue was suppose to take place. The director/writer keeps some lines of the book intact to please us, yet they are delievered either by the wrong character or wrong scene. That is not to say that some of the scenes, not in the book, were adapted nicely into the movie, however you try to make sence of the interpretation of it all. This is suppose to be a romantic movie and yet all the romance was left out. I was expecially looking forward to scenes after Bella's party with Edward in her room, when she saves Edward, he quotes Romero, there return from Italy, etc. Kristen's acting once again, is lacking so much emotion, that you can't really feel bad for her when Edward leaves. Loved to see more scenes of Jacob, but I feel that they downgraded his character, not giving him the screne time he deserved, putting so much time into this character. Can't wait to see more of the Volturi-they made the movie, yet the scene went by so quickly you couldn't enjoy it for very long. The end of the move was soooo disapointing, this does not occur in the book this way, and it leaves you wondering what the director/Summit is thinking. Giving us a taste of New Moons potential, is not going to please every twilight fan out there when it comes to the following two movies. Overall I would recommend waiting till it comes out on DVD.

My son and I saw New Moon last night and we were both pleased! Yes, the movie did stay pretty much right on track with the book this time, veering some for a bit more action with the Volturi and WOW, was that a great moment! The movie was a bit choppy though, jumping from scene to scene, but it worked with the intense emotions that this book derives. The actors did a superb job conveying their characters and the depths of pain and conflict that needed to be brought to the screen. Take the tissues....
