Get ready for a Comic-Con blowout! Let's see if a Twifan can actually OD on "New Moon." Unfortunately, the Twilight Superfan didn't make it to Comic-Con. Fortunately, many others did--and have done a tremendous job of covering it. I was in the desert frying my arse off during Comic-Con, and am now catching up on all the "New Moon" fabulousness that went down last week in San Diego. As per my usual, I will try to give you a recap of the best. There is a lot on this page, so pour yourself a lemonade or a Scotch (whichever is age-appropriate for you, hah!), have a seat, and enjoy immersing yourself in "New Moon" heaven. If you were not aware, Comic-Con San Diego 2009 took place July 23-26, and "The Twilight Saga: New Moon" had a big presence on Thursday, the 23rd. They held a private press conference in the morning, a panel in Hall H which included director Chris Weitz and major cast members, and a special "Twilight" screening in the evening which was presented by the cast. At the panel event, two new exclusive clips from "New Moon" were shown to screaming fans. Twihards started camping out--seriously!--as early as Tuesday the 21st. There are only 6,000+ seats available in Hall H, and no die-hard Twifan who trekked all the way to San Diego is going to miss out on seeing their favorite stars talk about "New Moon." For more on the tent city scene, check out MovieSet's piece here. James Rocchi was covering Comic-Con for MSN, and got an exclusive interview Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner: To see Rocchi's full report on "New Moon" at Comic-Con, click here. HitFix's Daniel Fienberg does live-blogging from the press conference: check it out here. Fearnet has a revealing interview with Weitz, Rob, and Kristen. A few bits: On preparing for New Moon: Read it all here. @jenyamato at Rotten Tomatoes has a cool piece on the Top Ten "New Moon" Facts Revealed At Comic-Con. Loads of fabulous photos from "New Moon" events at Comic-Con! I put together this slide show for your viewing pleasure: Photos from Socialite Life Fandango has two excellent videos of the press conference with Taylor, Kristen, and Rob. Source: TwiCrackAddict Here are several videos from the panel event in Hall H. In Part 1, I had to laugh at the beginning when I heard a young fangirl say, "Oh my god, my heart!" Such a young age for cardiac arrest. The screaming is amazing; I truly didn't think it could get any louder, until Rob Pattinson is introduced. Get your earplugs ready. Part 2 is a bit surreal. Rob is asked if he will do more comedic roles, and he reveals that one of his legs is shorter than the other, so he "can look like an idiot," but he "might not be able to be witty." Then a fan asking a question sings. Yes, she sings before her question, which is about the characters' selfishness. Part 3 starts out with a fan asking if Rob will do more open mike nights. He claims he's a chicken (he uses another word but I can't use it here, natch!). Weitz speaks in good humor about the "New Moon" fan reaction videos; I love that he's so funny and self-deprecating. Ashley Greene compares filming in Portland, Oregon, versus Vancouver, B.C. Taylor talks about filming with no clothes on (more screams). There are several more parts (seven total), which you will find on YouTube at the HallHCoverage Channel. Entertainment Weekly got an exclusive chat with Weitz, as well as Taylor, Ashley, Kristen, and Rob. Today's Lesson: Do not interrupt Rob when he's speaking. Source: TwiFans Here is a fan's video of the Twicast coming down the escalator at the special screening of "Twilight" Thursday night. Once again, volume control alert--the screaming is nuts. I hope they were handing out lozenges. Source: TwiFans And now here are two videos which have brought about a moral dilemma. Although I'm still not sure if this is a good idea, I'm going to post them anyways. Namely because they're already all over the internet, and people keep asking me about it. I know Twilight Lexicon had a similar quandary, and after much deliberation, they posted them as well. Keep in mind that if Summit Entertainment asks me to take them down, they will be gone in a flash. These are the two exclusive "New Moon" clips Summit presented at Comic-Con. Team Jacob and Team Edward: trust me, you'll both be squeeing with glee. Major lobster bib alert! What do you think? I'd say Summit knows its audience and is showing the fans lots of appreciation with so much "New Moon" love for us all :) Follow me on Twitter for the latest TwiNews!
