STORY ELEMENT
IN THE BOOK
IN THE MOVIE
CONCLUSIONS
The drive back from Port Angeles. In the book there is much more dialog about Bella's theories and how she figured out that Edward's a vampire. She also reveals some of her feelings here. They seemed to have incorporated parts of this car conversation into the dinner at Bella Italia and the later meadow scene. And he never finds out that it was Jacob Black who clued her into the Cullens being vampires, which I think is important. Of course I love the movie. But I like this part better in the book. It makes more sense and it doesn't make their later declarations of feelings seem so abrupt and sudden.
The Meadow In the book there is a lot more to the meadows scene than in the movie. Also, this is when Edward and Bella share their first kiss, unlike in the movie how they share it on Bella's bed, which is much more Hollywood's version instead. The movie Edward seems a little scarier and more conflicted than the Edward in the book. Edward also seems much more decided about the fate of his and Bella's relationship in the book. Also, when Edward shows Bella how he is in the sun, he does it in the forest, and not the meadow (like in the book). (: I love both, how could you not?!
At the movie In the book Bella and Edward talk more and you can see (well read) that they now more about each other and they trust more each other and also they say to each other I LOVE YOU The movie doesn't have a lot of that feeling that the book has . In the next movie they need to make people feel that.
Edward/Bella dynamic In the book, Edward is way more reserved in the way he deals with Bella. Since her blood is really captivating for him, he doesn't touch her a lot. If he does, he brushes her face or something subtly like that in the movie, after he decides to hell with everything, he is shown with his arm around her shoulders and all that drama. in Bella's bedroom as well, we see them kissing passionately which goes against the book The book is baout 50 times better than the movie. Still love it tho
Alice/James Relationship We discover that Alice was the only "one that got away" from James making his pursuit of Bella and the Cullens much more personal. (P.S James was not Alice's creator. The old man that was her psychiatrists was. GET UR FACTS STRAIGHT!!!)
James hunts Bella because he is a tracker and Edward's protective reaction makes the chase more interesting. James and his relationship to Alice is a compelling part of the story. I would have loved to see this play out in the movie.
Edward/Bella relationship edward and bella are so playful and they tease each other they are truly the perfect couple they are so AWKWARD!!! they are wayyy to intense...robs got it down better than kristen, but still the book relationship is so much better, but i dont mind the movie...i hope they do better in new moon
Bella's accident Edward stayed with her after the van almost crushed her! Edward left her jumping over her truck and seeing her later at the hospital... I guess it didn't matter too much, but my sister and i noticed that right off the bat watching the movie for the first time... we are still Twilight Obsessed!!!
Blood type Chapter 5, which was quite a good chapter. Should've been in the movie. It shows Edward's protective side more. So totally not in the movie AT ALL. Missed seeing Mike's poor attempts for Bella, and missed Edward being the prince... scooping her up and bringing her to the nurse
Prom In the book Bella and Edward kind of talk a little more don't they? From what I remember, lol, Bella was under the impression that Edward might be turning her into a vampire. In the movie they don't talk about that. Get what's said in the book into the movie. :)

I loved the book and the movie!!! I saw the movie before I read the book and I think it helped. If I would have read the book first, then I would have my own visions of what they looked like and it would have been harder to identify the characters. His looks in the movie are not quite as good looking as I think he should have been. Some one like Brad Pitt would have been a good choice. You can make Brad Pitt look younger than anybody in Hollywood. At his age he still has that baby face look. Back to the movie and book, I love them both. Already have tickets for the opening! I can't wait to see him on the big screen! I'm not saying he isn't sexy by a long shot. He also has those looks that just melt you to your seat!!

Bella's Lullaby I know from the books that Edward wrote a song for Bella and play's it and hums it throughout all 4 books The movie made no mention that the song he was playing was HER SONG I think having the song is an important part of the saga and it not being part of the movie made me sad. Now new moon is going to come out and we have no set-up for him hiding her cd of the song in the floor.
Length long book short movie to fully capture the essence of this wonderful story this should have been at least a 2 hour movie. I don't know about new moon or eclipse, but if Breaking Dawn isn't a 3 hour movie or longer i will be very upset

oh and "Top 50", yes, I'd want to live forever, but I also have a complex about nonexistence. This story is not about vampires and warewolves, by the way,it's a love story.

books are way better but that's usually how it happens. 2nd movie was way better than the first b/c it at least tried to stick closer to the book. Of course you have to remember these are long books and you can only fit so much into a movie. I always recommend reading the books when I hear someone has only seen these movies. I think the new director is a much better fit. Hope they keep him!

The first movie is terrible compared to the book! The second movie is better...but the books will always be better!

I really think that this is becoming overrated. The movie just does no justice to the book. All over the web and even at work I hear nothing but all about Edward...its all about him...look he is a charrie of a book and movie...would you really want to live forever?

I love Edward way more in the books. He's much more passionate toward Bella in the books. I didn't like that there was so much left out in the movie from the book. The first book was great! Try your best to capture that on film instead of leaving it out. I really hope they do much better with New Moon. They need to stick to the story!

I have to admit i never planned to pick up the booksat all but I am glad I did. Like everyone else i feel in love with the story. Breaking dawn being my favorite!!! Still like to see Step decide to finish Midnight Sun. The movie was good but lacked the emotions you feel when reading page after page. I hope new moon show the passion better these 2 share.

EDWARDS IS WAY MORE INTERESTING IN THE BOOK. DON'T GET ME WRONG...ROB IS A GREAT EDWARD. I THINK THE MOVIE DIDN'T LET ROB PLAY EDWARD THE WAY HE COULD HAVE. EDWARD AND BELLA ARE MORE IN TUNE WITH EACH OTHER IN THE BOOK AND MORE AFFECTIONATE. I DO NEED TO SAY THE FOLLOWING...I PICTURED BELLA TO BE STRONG, SHY, SMART AND FEMININE. KRISTEN IS TOO ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES. I THINK SHE'S BEAUTIFUL IN A GIRL NEXT DOOR SORT OF WAY BUT I WISH THEY WOULD SOFTEN HER UP A LITTLE. I'M A JEAN AND T-SHIRT KINDA GIRL TOO BUT WITH A GUY SOO HOT AS EDWARD, I WOULD TURN IT UP A NOTCH TO PEAK HIS CURIOSITY. I ALSO LOVE THE CAR RIDE IN THE BOOK TOO. IT REALLY STARTS TO SHOW THE FEELINGS BETWEEN THEM TWO. AND THE RESTAURANT SCENE WITH THE WAITRESS FLIRTING WITH EDWARD WAS SO MUCH BETTER IN THE BOOK. THE BLOOD TYPE CHAPTER IS GREAT. EDWARDS CONCERN FOR BELLA IS TOUCHING. IT ALSO POINTS OUT THE FACT THAT EDWARD THINKS IT'S FUNNY THAT BELLA CAN'T STAND THE SIGHT OR SMELL OF BLOOD. FUNNY... SHE HATES IT AND HE LOVES IT!

i sooooooooo agree with the blod type chapter 5. it definitely should have added it in the movie, its proprably the best chapter in the book. And James did not create Alice.

Actually, James did not create Alice, he was hunting Alice and the vampire that was protecting Alice from James was her creator. James was so miffed at that vampire that he killed Alice's creator and left Alice alone, the 'hunt' was over. He took his vengeance on the creator. The kick for James in pursing Bella was all the more due to this 'odd coincidence'. The book was MUCH better because you can't 'act' the feelings that Stephenie wrote in the book.
