Twilight Superfans BlogDISPLAYING POSTS WITH KEYWORD TAG: PAUL. Awesome new exclusive from MSN Movies, this clip has Chris Weitz talking about the wolves' special effects, and Alex Meraz and Chaske Spencer discuss the bond between the pack. Is it November 20 yet? LAST UPDATE BY DAZZLEDBYTWILIGHT AT 10/28/2009 3:06:51 PM Any doubts you may have had about how the wolves look in "New Moon" will be erased when you see this awesome clip. The wolves are fierce and huge! Chris Weitz...thank you...mwah! See it bigger on my New Moon Trailers page! Follow me @TwiSuperfan! LAST UPDATE BY DAZZLEDBYTWILIGHT AT 10/27/2009 10:42:53 AM Alex Meraz, who plays Paul in "New Moon," is everywhere these days. Here he is a couple of weeks ago in Vangroover, getting his takeout. Presumably returning to his hotel to eat in peace and privacy (which seems to be what the whole Twicast does now, understandably so). Can I just point out that it's raining, probably about 58 degrees, and he's in flip-flops and a muscle shirt? Likin' the feet tattoos. Alex is also featured in an upcoming issue of Los Angeles Confidential magazine--the center of a photoshoot styled by competitors in the latest MTV reality show, "Styl'd." The shoot took place at the Grand View Cemetery in Glendale, CA. Wolf goes vampire. And Alex is the latest Wolf Pack member to join Twitter! Follow him @TheAlexMeraz. And follow me @TwiSuperfan! USA Today gives us our first glance of the Wolf Pack in character, and these guys would make anybody's temperature run up to 108.9 degrees: "Four actors — Chaske Spencer, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon and Bronson Pelletier, all with Native American heritage — join Taylor Lautner, 17, who returns as a hairier, scarier Jacob Black. The plotline finds Jacob growing closer to a distraught Bella (Kristen Stewart) after her vampire beau, Edward, runs off. Among wolf pack job requirements: the ability to work half-naked no matter what the weather in the Vancouver, B.C., area, where the film has been shooting for several weeks." I've been curious as to how they are going to do the CG effects to make these guys look like the giant, scary wolves in New Moon, and I got my answer: "No amount of weightlifting, however, would allow them to act out the wolf portion of their performances; the beasts are about the size of horses and race around on all fours. Instead, the transformations are computer-generated, although one part of each wolf might seem familiar. "They all have the actor's eyes," Weitz says." LAST UPDATE BY DAZZLEDBYTWILIGHT AT 4/22/2009 8:14:20 PM Alex Meraz, the hunk who plays hot-tempered "Paul" in New Moon, gives Access Hollywood the scoop on being shirtless and cold in Vancouver, B.C., director Chris Weitz's sense of humor, and the "fantastic" cast. I can't wait to see the entire Wolf Pack once the movie comes out. I would imagine it's going to be a complicated combination of make-up, costume, and CGI--I just hope it will look as real onscreen as it does in my mind. LAST UPDATE BY DAZZLEDBYTWILIGHT AT 4/22/2009 9:33:04 AM Myriam Gabriel-Pollock When I was a kid my favorite movies were Star Wars, The Sound of Music, and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. I like to think that my tastes have grown more sophisticated by now, but I may be delusional. I do see movies and read books in a wide range of genres, and I enjoy them immensely. But when it comes down to it, I love the escapism and otherworldliness that fantasy brings me. I can't yet discuss The Deathly Hallows without choking up. I've watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy so many times that the DVDs might actually be wearing down. I get a wistful look in my eye when I think about the Arthurian legends. And when I watch Twilight, I actually giggle like a schoolgirl when Edward first walks into the cafeteria. Hey I'm not a nerd, I'm a geek. Huge difference, right? So I love geeky games and gadgets. But I am also very social, I love clothes and makeup, I can sing and dance, I like the outdoors, and I enjoy my drink. I guess that makes me...a well-rounded geek? WYSIWYG. More about me.
