More Volturi up-close-and-personal shots from "New Moon." Those red eyes really are creepy. Even in person, the actors looked a bit scary with the red eyes...something about them makes your animal instincts kind of slightly shudder.

Michael Sheen

September 8, London--Michael Sheen was at the GQ Men of the Year Awards at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden when he dished to the BBC Newsbeat about his upcoming role as Aro in "The Twilight Saga: New Moon."

He said: "I remember someone whose job was containment and I thought: 'What does that actually mean? Does that mean stopping people from getting on the set?'

"And it wasn't, it was to stop people on the set taking pictures and sending them out."

"There's a lot of security but there was nobody hanging around the set or anything like that," he said.

"I think all the Twilight fans are very well behaved on the whole, they let them do the work and then when they're out and about they go a bit mental."

Sheen also spoke about getting brownie Michael Sheen as Aropoints from his daughter for his role in "New Moon":

"When they first asked me if I wanted to do it, I hadn't read the books or anything, so I had to ask my daughter what the character was like without tipping her off… because I didn't want to get her all excited if I didn't end up doing it.

"She said she thought Aro, my character, was bald but he's got long black hair so I hope I haven't ruined it for her by not being bald. She cried when I told her.

"No matter what happens I have to be at the premiere in LA. That's the whole reason she wanted me to do it, so she could go to the premiere."

Summit Entertainment just emailed these official HQ photos of the Volturi. The shots are amazing, very well done. I'm so glad to finally see these, as I couldn't take photos during my "New Moon" set visit in May!

Here are some stills of the Volturi.

Demetri with Alice, looking very dangerous and threatening. Alice is properly terrified. (Love her oxblood red gloves, btw.)

Can I just say how excited I am to see these stills? This was the set I got to visit in May, along with many of the actors who we met and saw--so to finally get a glimpse of the finished product is incredibly thrilling. My set visit article is here, if you haven't seen it yet.

From Summit Entertainment, the new "Meet Jacob Black" preview for "The Twilight Saga: New Moon"!

What do you guys think? Personally I love Jacob jumping all over and being this new, strong, super agile being. Of course I love the snippets of the Volturi scenes, since these are what I saw being filmed during my set visit in May. The chemistry between Jacob and Bella looks intense (yay for the Team Jacob peeps).

The accompanying press release:
SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT
Presents
THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON

Starring

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Rachelle Lefevre, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning

Based on the Novel “New Moon” by Stephenie Meyer / Screenplay by Melissa Rosenberg

Directed by Chris Weitz

In the second installment of Stephenie Meyer’s phenomenally successful TWILIGHT series, the romance between mortal and vampire soars to a new level as BELLA SWAN (Kristen Stewart) delves deeper into the mysteries of the supernatural world she yearns to become part of—only to find herself in greater peril than ever before.

Following Bella’s ill-fated 18th birthday party, EDWARD CULLEN (Robert Pattinson) and his family abandon the town of Forks, Washington, in an effort to protect her from the dangers inherent in their world. As the heartbroken Bella sleepwalks through her senior year of high school, numb and alone, she discovers Edward’s image comes to her whenever she puts herself in jeopardy. Her desire to be with him at any cost leads her to take greater and greater risks.

With the help of her childhood friend JACOB BLACK (Taylor Lautner), Bella refurbishes an old motorbike to carry her on her adventures. Bella’s frozen heart is gradually thawed by her budding relationship with Jacob, a member of the mysterious Quileute tribe, who has a supernatural secret of his own.

When a chance encounter brings Bella face to face with a former nemesis, only the intervention of a pack of supernaturally large wolves saves her from a grisly fate, and the encounter makes it frighteningly clear that Bella is still in grave danger. In a race against the clock, Bella learns the secret of the Quileutes and Edward’s true motivation for leaving her. She also faces the prospect of a potentially deadly reunion with her beloved that is a far cry from the one she’d hoped for. With more of the passion, action and suspense that made TWILIGHT a worldwide phenomenon, THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON is a spellbinding follow-up to the box office hit.

U.S. release via Summit Entertainment, November 20, 2009.

Charley Bewley in Montepulciano, Italy
Charlie Bewley, who plays Demetri in "New Moon," recently gave a candid interview to Twilight Lexicon. Charlie opens up about his audition, the costume and makeup process, and which Volturi vampire he thinks will most frighten the audience:

Twilight Lexicon: What was the make-up and costuming process like for you? Some of the actors have had difficulties with the contacts, did you? Did the costume help you find the character?
Charlie Bewley: I loved wearing the contacts - bottled threat: straight into character. I knew my costume awhile back which allowed me plenty of time to think about my demeanor, but only when I put the wardrobe on and interacted with my surroundings and other characters did the idiosyncrasies of Demetri become apparent.

TL: Which member of the Volturi do you think the audience will find the most frightening?
CB: Dakota. Jane. Both, in fact, are a little unnerving.

TL: What parts of filming did you find challenging (i.e., green screen, make-up). What was most enjoyable?
CB: The experience on the New Moon set was a thrilling one. It’s this big hive of activity and everyone is working their proverbials off to pull this thing together. The crew were all brilliant, but I have to mention that Chris Weitz is just the coolest guy to work with. I still don’t really understand how he does it, but he just does, and brilliantly efficiently at that, without breaking any eggs.
It was great hanging around with the cast, on and off set. There are some great figures in this flick. Big shout back home to Jamie Campbell Bower, very entertaining. Special thanks also to the makeup department who were a lot of fun and kept us all awake and entertained at 5am call-times.
The most challenging thing was keeping away from the craft tent. The food they serve up is damn good and I have a nut addiction which rivals your average lipid-deficient Brazilian squirrel.

See it all here.

This will be his first movie role, and I think he'll be fantastic as Demetri. Hopefully we'll see him in the rest of the saga.

When I was a kid my favorite movies were Star Wars, The Sound of Music, and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger. I like to think that my tastes have grown more sophisticated by now, but I may be delusional. I do see movies and read books in a wide range of genres, and I enjoy them immensely.

But when it comes down to it, I love the escapism and otherworldliness that fantasy brings me. I can't yet discuss The Deathly Hallows without choking up. I've watched the Lord of the Rings trilogy so many times that the DVDs might actually be wearing down. I get a wistful look in my eye when I think about the Arthurian legends. And when I watch Twilight, I actually giggle like a schoolgirl when Edward first walks into the cafeteria.

Hey I'm not a nerd, I'm a geek. Huge difference, right? So I love geeky games and gadgets. But I am also very social, I love clothes and makeup, I can sing and dance, I like the outdoors, and I enjoy my drink. I guess that makes me...a well-rounded geek?
