Bolts. I was on Hood Canal this weekend with only the Olympic National Park and Forest separating me from Forks, Washington. So I thought it would be appropriate to post this new series preview. From the makers of "Twilight" comes "Firelight":

Tee hee! Have you bought your "New Moon" tickets yet?

The Danish GirlBlondes. Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman will star in "The Danish Girl." The book by David Ebershoff is based on the true story of the the first post-operative transsexual, Einar Wegener, and his wife. Kidman will play Einar, Paltrow will be the wife, Greta. Most interesting tidbit to me – the movie will be directed by "Let the Right One In" director, Tomas Alfredson, a favorite flick of Fright Site's.

Dudes.
In Publishers Weekly's ten best books of 2009, zero are written by a lady. The New York Times Arts Beat blog post about this has 188 comments so far.

Men Who Stare at GoatsGoats.
You may have seen Jon Ronson on "The Colbert Report" with his book, "The Men Who Stare at Goats," which is now a George Clooney movie.

A Christmas CarolDickens. We forget that Dickens was quite the rock star to his generation, so having a screen-popping, Jim Carrey fueled CGI movie adaptation of "A Christmas Carol" might be up old Chuck's alley. I'm going to see it.

Born RoundFoodies. News from Gawker that Frank Bruni's memoir "Born Round" has been bought for TV. Nobody seems to know if it would be a foodie documentary ala Ruth Reichl/Anthony Bourdain or a fictionalized sitcommy version or a new reality show...
