The big news for Twilighters this week?
Stephenie Meyer will be on "Oprah" on Friday (her only promotional interview for the
new movie AND YET the Oprah site spelled her name wrong. Plus they put Stephenie in a karaoke/Robin Givens segment sandwich.) I do hope she talks about her new "Firelight" series.
And if you'd like to hear about a more realistic teen-mom experience than one involving rich, glittery vampiracle studs, why not listen to NPR's "Morning Edition"
interview with Sapphire, author of "Push: A Novel," which the new film,
"Precious," is based on.
Author vs. Author on TV and radio. Who will win?

Finally, in an effort to not call a book or a book-based TV series vapid without first experiencing it, I watched an episode of
"Gossip Girl" the other day, the controversial threesome episode with Hilary Duff. I am confused on many fronts and afraid it has brought out my inner Andy Rooney:
- How can Chuck be recently out of high school if he has the mannerisms and liver of a 40+ lounge lizard?
- Who are Hilary Duff's managers/agents and why do they hate her?
- How does anyone keep track of the names? Buffy Vandersnood? Lily Boss Bass Wood?
- Is everyone remarried to everyone on the show and therefore everyone's new step-brother/sister?
- Are there any characters you are supposed to like on this show?
