Scaring Up a Laugh

With the release of 'ParaNorman,' some of our favorite not-so-horrifying specters

In the animated horror-comedy kid flick "ParaNorman," our misfit schoolboy not only sees dead people; he carries on active relationships with the dearly departed. His strange behavior bedevils his parents and makes him even more of an outcast at school, but to Norman, it's no big deal. Well & until the dead begin to rise, that is.

Normally anytime a ghost pays a house call on film, it's cause to call a Catholic priest or Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis. But paranormal activity need not always be cause for alarm. Sometimes it can even be funny.
