Sony Pictures is using its vast array of platforms on Monday to release the
first teaser trailer for its upcoming blockbuster "Men in Black 3," due out May 25, 2012.
The trailer brings viewers back to the same main characters -- Will Smith's Agent J and Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K -- but this time
there are secrets that require Smith's character to go back in time.
It could reach up to 749 million people through Sony's subsidiaries, like its
Sony Pictures Television networks, its Entertainment
network, including the Playstation properties, and its array of websites.
The launch event was announced by Jeff Blake, chairman of Sony Picture
Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, and spearheaded by Dwight Caines,
president of Worldwide Digital Marketing for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
"Everyone at Sony felt that this was a fun and unique opportunity to marshal
our forces in an unprecedented way, and it's exciting to see the entire group of
companies flex its marketing muscle in unison," Blake said in a statement. "We
believe it gives this trailer launch a distinct, compelling and significant
impact with moviegoers around the world." The third movie in the series, which
also stars Josh Brolin, was directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Ethan Cohen.
