'Amazing Spider-Man' Sequel Gets a 2014 Release Date
The sequel will debut two years after the franchise reboot next year

Sony has set a May 2, 2014 release for the second "Amazing Spider-Man."
Its "The Amazing Spider-Man" comes out July 3, 2012.
The "Spider-Man" movies are a reboot of Sony's extremely successful "Spider-Man" franchise which starred Tobey Maguire. Andrew Garfield stars as Spidey in
the new movie.
Marc Webb is directing next summer's "Amazing Spider-Man," which also stars
Emma Stone.
The first go-round of the "Spider-Man" franchise grossed nearly $2.5 billion at the
worldwide box office.
While there are no details beyond the date of "Spider-Man 2," it's fair to say the studio hopes that
the key cast and filmmakers will continue in the new franchise.
