Special powers couldn't save these movies -- Can Ben Affleck really play Batman?
By Bryan Reesman
We live in a superhero universe now. While comic books were considered hopelessly nerdy up through the '90s, they are now cool, hip and can be blockbusters. At Comic-Con 2013, director Zack Snyder made the big announcement that Superman and Batman were finally going to team up in the "Man of Steel" sequel. Many fans excitedly welcomed this news.
But then came this: With Christian Bale declaring he was done playing the Caped Crusader, the studio would have to choose another actor to play Batman, and that choice was Ben Affleck.
With that news, Batman fans upset with the choice got online to protest the decision.
While some Batman fans have said they are willing to give Affleck the benefit of the doubt, others can't seem to forget he starred as Daredevil. (He received a Worst Actor Razzie due in part to that movie.) We'll just have to see how this all plays out when "Man of Steel 2" comes out in theaters in 2015.
In the meantime, here are 10 of the worst superhero movies in movie history. Let's hope "Batman vs. Superman" isn't soon-to-be added to the list.
