On the whole, Where's Charley? is only a moderately satisfying film, but it has some elements that are much more than that. Chief among these is the indispensable Ray Bolger in the title role. Yes, the man is much too old at 48 to be portraying a college student, and it's true that his accent (when he remembers it) is not really very good.
