Synopsis: Adapted by Ernest Gann from his own novel, Twilight for the Gods bears traces of Gann's earlier The High and the Mighty. This "psychological adventure" stars Rock Hudson as Captain Bell, who crawls into a bottle after being court-martialed and discharged from the Navy. A routine thriller that could use a few more thrills, Twilight for the Gods is a predictable, by-the-numbers production that promises more than it delivers. This is one of those films where they take a lot of different stock characters, throw them together in a situation that is hopefully fraught with danger, and see how they interact with each other.
