Synopsis: An unlucky-in-love bachelor lands his dream date, but finds that getting through the evening will be a difficult challenge indeed in this romantic comedy. The Third Wheel stars Luke Wilson as Stanley, a woefully inept young man who -- with the aid of his roommate Mike (Ben Affleck) -- works up the nerve to ask out his alluring co-worker Diana (Denise Richards). It's easy to see why The Third Wheel sat around, and then sat around, and then sat around some more on the Miramax shelves, despite the supposed pedigree of executive producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. Its chosen scenario is questionable enough, as a homeless con man (Jay Lacopo) repeatedly interferes with a first date between a regular guy (Luke Wilson) and his unattainable dream girl (Denise Richards). ...
