Synopsis: In her final of three "singing cowgirl" Westerns for low-budget Grand National, Dorothy Page learns that her neighbors, the Harkinses, have been murdered. Only young Billy Harkins (Dix Davis) was spared in the massacre and soon a bandit also takes a shot at poor Billy. By 1939, the struggling Grand National attempted to survive on a rather restricted diet of Tex Ritter Westerns and the novelty of the "singing cowgirl" oaters. The aptly titled The Singing Cowgirl is probably the best of the three Dorothy Page Westerns and includes a touching scene where Dorothy, Dave O'Brien, and little Dix Davis -- who also played Si Crowell in Our Town (1940) -- bury the latter's ...
