Synopsis: In a tour-de-force sci-fi story with only three main characters, Kiwi director Geoffrey Murphy creates an interesting dynamic nuanced with shades of mysticism. When I Am Legend was released in 2007, critics compared it to The Omega Man (1971) and The Last Man on Earth (1964) -- understandable, since all three were versions of the same source novel. It's a shame they didn't have Geoff Murphy's The Quiet Earth as an additional reference point.
