![]() Synopsis: The African American Jefferson family had been introduced in 1971 as the
across-the-street neighbors of the lily-white Bunker family on the
groundbreaking CBS sitcom All in the Family. For a long time, the only Jefferson
we ever saw was Lionel (Michael Evans), son of George and Louise Jefferson, who
dropped in at the Bunkers to trade pleasantries with Edith, Gloria and Mike and
to subtly mock the racist views of xenophobic Archie Bunker (who never quite
