Synopsis: This Casablanca-esque spy thriller set during WWII centers on the exploits of the notorious "Flying Dutchman," a fugitive resistance leader from Holland who heads for Lisbon where he hooks up with other members of the underground. Clearly intended as a Casablanca rip-off, The Conspirators is a moderately entertaining spy thriller that is in no way in the same league as its predecessor. The plot is intricate, perhaps even convoluted, but the intricacy will be a plus for those willing to stick with it.
