Synopsis: Roots, Vol. 4 consists of all of Part Five and one-half of Part Six of the classic eight-part TV miniseries based on the book by Alex Haley. When Kizzy (Leslie Uggams), daughter of African-American slave Kunta Kinte, grows to young adulthood, her owner's well-meaning niece (Sandy Duncan) secretly teaches the slave girl to read and write.
