Synopsis: In this comedy, Russell P. Kramer (Jack Lemmon) and Matt Douglas (James Garner) are two former U.S. Presidents who sit on opposite sides of the political fence. Kramer is a stuffy Republican reluctant to part with a dollar, while Douglas is a left-leaning Democrat with an eye for the ladies. Basically Grumpy Old Men (1993) get elected to the White House, this comedy gets the funny parts down just right and features picture-perfect casting in the form of James Garner and Jack Lemmon. There's even some nifty political parody going on here in the form of Garner's JFK-style womanizing and Lemmon's Reagan-esque speaking fees.
