Synopsis: Cain (Clint Walker), better known throughout the West as "Killer Cain," is released from prison in 1891, after serving 18 years for killing a man, one of over a dozen lives that he'd taken from the age of 16. More Dead Than Alive is an ambitious movie that tries to do too much with too little. There are some great sequences, such as an attempted prison break that's staged about as well as any sequence of its type; and some truths told, as the script trades in some honest Western revisionism that was very refreshing in 1969.
