Synopsis: A glitzy updating of Andy Warhol's Trash with aliens, this campy, stylish, but ultimately depressing film is one of the most keenly observed portraits of New York's early '80s downtown new wave scene. Though presumably considered "hip" and "contemporary" upon release, this gleefully weird 1982 cult film now feels as dated as the mod '60s. The story revels in the same era as Downtown 81, Smithereens, and A Certain Sacrifice, which weakens the picture.
