Synopsis: Gladys Glover (Judy Holliday) is an unsuccessful model and actress who believes that a jolt of publicity will do her career a world of good. She gets that publicity by renting a billboard in the middle of Manhattan, emblazoned with her name and photograph. As a result, Gladys is showered with endorsement by (Peter Lawford). Inspired by an incident in his own life, Garson Kanin's screenplay for It Should Happen to You is fast and funny, and extremely well structured. The plot elements all line up exactly as they inevitably should, and there's no fat on the story anywhere -- it's lean and tight.
