Synopsis: American humorist Jules Feiffer and French director Alain Resnais are oddly paired for this satirical comedy about an American cartoonist in Paris. Adolph Green is a stunner as Joey Wellman, a cantankerous American cartoonist traveling abroad for the first time. In tow is Lena Apthrop (Linda Lavin), and the two are ostensibly journeying to Paris to attend a comic-strip exhibition in which Wellman's work is included. Fans of director Alain Resnais will desperately search I Want to Go Home to find a gem hidden beneath its obnoxious surface, but it's doubtful that even the most dedicated searcher will be able to convince himself that the extremely talented Resnais did not come a cropper with Home. Home is not totally devoid of interest, for it has an antic, bizarre atmosphere about it that in small doses is appealing. ... Full Review
