Synopsis: Desert Fury is a rarety for the 1940s, a Technicolor "film noir." Set in a Nevada gambling town, the story concerns the various misadventures, romantic and otherwise, of Paula Haller (Lizabeth Scott), the rebellious daughter of gambling-house proprietress Fritzie Haller (Mary Astor, who steals the picture). Desert Fury is by no stretch of the imagination a good movie -- but many will find it an immensely entertaining one. Fury looks goods; the color cinematography (unusual for a film noir of the period) is kind of stunning, if not always serviceable to the hoped-for mood.
