Zodaics goodZodiac was actually a very well-established film, however at times I was a little fidgety because of the duration of the film. It was understandable so for those who said it was boring has gotta be joking, because your probably the type that loose interest in a film when it doesnt start off or continuously have action-packed scenes. Like, WOW!! to me thats sounds exactly as a kid who only wants to look at a picture book and always skips the words. Was this review helpful? Love the way the movie moves, slow and gripping.
I think because it is based on a true story, we didnt get much out of Avery, and the new editor, Duffy Jennings, who has no role to the development of the story, does he? And Toschi is one hell of a stubborn cop.
Otherwise, tis good.

It was about a killer, and yet we didnt really see him kill that much. The movie was very long and it could have been finished in 20 minutes. The plot skipped around all over the place. Leaves you a tad bit confused in the end. Hasnt the director heard of editing? What happened to the editor?
People havent heard of this killer and you probably will not understand this movie because it leaves you more clueless than you were prior to watching the movie. Was this review helpful? It is a true story--not a thriller flick. The acting and direction were incredible. If you are into this story, you will love this movie. If you are unfamiliar with the story, you mighl not enjoy it. Hats off. Two or three unnecessarily violent and tasteless (along the lines of Tarantinos Hostel) scenes immediately follow. This is all in first 30 minutes or so. The principal character, a cartoonist, is not very convincing, dare I say almostcartoonish? Is that his son in the movie or his younger brother? The two hours that follow are a drawn out episode of Forensic Files, minus the forensics, plus too many names, details, and possibilities as to who the killer is. Too much information makes this film a borderline documentary without a narrator. Reallybring pen and paperyou will need it to arrive to your own conclusion, since the movie doesnt offer one. One hour after the previews I didnt care who the Zodiac was or isI spent the remaining one and half hours considering my optionsstep on few toes and leave or ride it out half awake. Regretfully I chose the latter. If it wasnt too dark in the theater I could have balanced my checkbook. Was this review helpful? To late, by that time my butt was hurting and I wanted to leave. This coupled with the fact that Jake is a flat actor made for one lonnnng boring movie. I was looking at my phone waiting to see when it would end. Every character Jake portrays is another Donnie Darko rehash. Another Hollywood pretty face that cant act his way out of a box. motivation? the police was not that smart...thats probably why they have the show cold case filesif murders were handled that way in the 60s and 70s i can see why nothing was ever solved.......the zodiac killer was not that different from the average serial killer......now George Bush......thats a serial killer that needs a movie made of himself.......... 1. Its slow, slow, slow--after a bloody start, NOTHING of interest happens for 2 hours! (unless you get off on learning about breaking ciphers)
2. Carrtoonish characters--Robert Downey acted like a cartoon of himself in real life (wiseguy doper), the protagonist is a painfully geeky and totally unbelievable character.
3. The ending is about as unsatisfying as you can get...leaves you in limbo...after investing 2 hours you walk out wondering what you are supposed to take away with you...our answer, not much.
Should have known it would rot when the review went on about the Directors skill in replicating 1960-70s Frisco...nice job but so what?

So of course I got to the theatre expecting brilliance. Boy were we wrong. The concept for the movie is definitely a good one. But the film itself, was definitely not worth the 2 and a half hours and the 7 dollars a pop we paid to get into the theatre. It was boring and as hard as I tried, I just couldnt see the good in it.
