I love the Dawn of the Dead references and the drunk Steeler fan was right on point. I laughed so hard I couldn't breath. If you didn't enjoy this movie then you need to watch it again and lighten up! It had a great plot that kept you hooked with a very unexpected but heart warming ending. Maybe I am partial to movies made in my historical hometown of Pittsburgh but I really enjoyed this movie. It was a bright gem in a sea of crap that has been flying out of movie theaters lately (along with WAY TOO MANY remakes)! Was this review helpful? This movie was supposed to be "DUMB", but at the same time freaking hilarious & it is!!! The porno scenes aren't supposed to be real porn that you watch on the internet...it's about porn ammatures attemptin to make one. Thank you Kevin Smith sir, you rule. I didn't know how you might pull this one off but I believe you are brilliant. When I saw it in the theatre, there were only about 20 people and I have to tell you that all 20 people were laughing as loud as I was duing the entire film. ( It even made me tear up so much from laughing I had to take off my glasses to wipe my eyes.)
My girlfriend is Chinese and she has a very different sense of humor but she was laughing out loud like I have never heard her laugh before. Thank you again Kevin Smith for another super fun movie. Okay, there were a couple of funny scense, the reunion scene was hilarious, and Justin Long was a hoot, but it was far outweighed by the total grossness of the porno scenes, which were just bad porn, and not funny at all. Since half the movie consists of the main characters trying to make a really bad porno, and the porno scenes are just not funny, that pretty much killed the whole thing. I'm still nauseous. It is filthy. Who rated them R??? This movie at the very least, deserved an MA rating. Some pretty disgusting sex scenes, unimaginative obscene conversation. Few laughs. The humor of course is very raunching with the same great humor from Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogan as you saw from them in the 40 Year Old Virgin. Also Jeff Anderson and Jason Mewes who played Randel and Jay in the Clerks movies had some very funny roles along with the rest of the cast. This is not an intellectial film, it's just one to have a good time with. And of course, this one is not for the kids, expect the same lewd scenes that you saw from films like the American Pie series. Was this review helpful? There's no creative humor here - only desperation to ride the tailwinds of previous successful films. Well, it was fun while it lasted, but this team's journey is clearly over. However, I'd recommend seeing it, if only to see the coffee shop owner in action (a hilarious Gerry Bednob--if you haven't seen him in the 40-year-old Virgin, I recommend seeing him in action in that movie as well), as well as Justin Long, who is a hilarious and openly gay lover to the handsomest guy from high school (played by Brandon Routh).
So, while it will have its sappy moments, it's a lot of fun, you'll laugh like crazy, and really, really wonder where Justin Long was hiding his comedic chops as a gay man, because he could totally pass for one... Very funny, and for a raunchy comedy, totally heartwarming. See it--the supporting cast is great--of course, the addition of Tracy Lords as Bubbles doesn't really add much. Oh, and stick around for the mini infomercial at the end of the movie. That's almost as funny as the movie itself. Was this review helpful?
