The critics got it wrong and I am glad. How can anyone except for the people who actually buy comic books not like this movie? Even my wife of all people like this movie. The action was phenomenial. The story was above average. It was by far better than the first two X-Men movies combined. This was the only X-Men movie that had the attention grabing factor of the comic book. Still it was not on the Spider Man movies level but at least it found the neighborhood.

As soon as it started, I escaped from my Southern town into the land of X Men. I love movies, and I cant help it - I get lost in them. X Men let me do that. Halle was beautiful and petite, Hugh good looking, sensitive, and I thought funny. I finally got around to liking Scott- and boy looking at Jean was stunning. She is beautiful. I loved the effects, loved the Angel guy. I wished there was more of Rogue and her beau. I thought the whole story was great, could have been longer. The lady in the van was priceless. I found myself saying gross! about twice, but it was appropriate - they were doing a great job in the gross territory. Yeah, it isnt true to form, yeah, its the third, but I could care less. I sat in a movie theatre with a bunch of excited people, we escaped for 2 hours, and all came out nodding our heads. Thank you!

Unfortunately, after reading other reviews prior to seeing the movie I was prepared to entirely love it or absolutely despise it. Actually, I tried to keep an open mind. I went to be amazed by the special effects, and it happened. I wanted to be entertained (because thats what movies are for, and dont forget that), and it happened. I have seen enough bad movies to really appreciate that this isnt one of them. Its an enjoyable escape.

Good movie and money well spent. Perhaps not as good as previous installments in character development, but the action kept things moving along. Surprisingly nobody in the theater (which was PACKED) stuck around to the end of the credits. BIG BONUS SCENE that is well worth the wait after the credits finish. Call it a true surprise ending. Stay for it!

What is the point making an X-Men movie when there is no GAMBIT.This movie is really a total let down and rip off.

The critics must be spoiled. Granted, the character development is minimal and has largely been left to the previous movies...and the story line does not follow the comics. However, the X-Men were always an interchangeable force and this movie reflects that. The characters in the movie are also good on-screen representations of the comic book characters we know and love. This movie is filled with action, combat, surprises, and I found it very entertaining. If someone is not familiar with the previous movies, they may give this a minimal rating, as it builds on the previous films. It also moves between scenes with some velocity so it helps to know the context established in X1 and X2. However, if you know the X-Men comics or enjoyed the first two movies, this one is a must. All-in-all, I heard the negative reviews before the movie and I have to say they were wrong. The cast, special effects and the scene selection in this movie are excellent. There were even some great camio appearances by Toad, Stan Lee (creator of the X-Men), Blob, Maddox and others so watch closely. I look forward to owning this one and I think the majority of you will too.

Ive watched all of the x-men movies to this point and including this one I have been pretty happy. They introduce a few more mutants in this movie that you will have seen in the comic book, but unfortunatly there isnt much time for charachter development as the movie moves pretty fast. The feeling off all those I went with, 5 of us - all in our 20s and 30s, was that the movies was just OK. For some reason you leave feeling like you havnt been completly satisfied. I would say the the movie is worth a rental or possible matinee. Just dont blow 10 bucks on it.

When I first heard of Ratner as a replacement, the first words out of my mouth were Oh No. Needless to say, it was better than I had expected. Ratner is not as good of a story-plot man as Singer, but you go to the movies to be mainly entertained. X3 is definitely entertaining, but Ratner did a few unwise things in regards to this movie. He killed off pertanent characters for what seemed like no satisfying reason, and interesting characters were overlooked due to poor character development. But beyond its shortcomings, I would still recommend X3 for those folks who, like me, have been die-hard Xmen fans since childhood. Lets just pray that Singer will be avaliable if there is ever talk of an X4.

Its really sad that i have to stand up for a comic book, but here i go. - To say a movie that is based on a COMIC BOOK, that IS BASED ON PEOPLE WITH SUPERHUMAN ABILITYS, is too cartoonish, is probably the most HILARIOUS idea ive ever herd. To have a movie that has the main premis as the last stand for mutants, and not expect a little bit more imagination for action sequences- involving people who can turn water to ice or control the weather like some sort of god - is STUPID, to say the least. - The first two movies had considerably less action sequences than this one because its a build up in the story line. The fox cartoon x-men actually went with pretty much the same story line - mutant war - phoenix and all. - Its extreamly funny as well, that the people who now criticize this movie have probably never picked up an x-men comic IN THERE LIFE! X-Men has to do with concuring racisim (remembering that this marvel comic originally came out during the civil rights movement) and the idea that anyone could have superhuman abilitys and be forced to hid them, in fear of ridicule from others. - X1 X2 set up for X3 , the main battle WITHOUT ALL THE CONFUSING STUFF THAT SLOWS MOVIES DOWN - its simple, and to the point. ITS A COMIC FOR GOODNESS SAKE! - DONT EXPECT OSCAR TALK! - Thanks for your time

Although Ratner has done some good work in the past, perhaps there was a reason that they decided to have Brian Singer direct Superman instead of him. Unfortunately, while Singer definitely has a prowess for comic book films, and hence got Superman, what happened is that they left X3 cold in the dust. Ive waited 3 years for it ever since the cliffhanger ending of X2, yet I found that instead of staying up well past midnight to see it, I could have caught up on my sleep and seen the movie the week or two after and not regretted it. While it is an amazing movie, the absence and shortened presence of the most popular characters (Mystique, Nightcrawler, Rogue and yes, even Cyclops... plot line notwithstanding), it simply felt like they were saying... Well, here is the stuff that happened. It was more of a small explanation rather than an extension of the franchise. I would recommend seeing it if you are a fan or enjoyed the first two, but you can probably catch it in another week or two, without the crowd of stoned teenagers whooping at the Juggernaut.

Posted: 5/26/2006A review of X-Men: The Last Stand by BIGMO213
Whoever that guy is who reviews your movies should be fired. He cant tell a good movie from a crappy one. Yes X3 lacked some character developement but it didnt need it. X3 is the third movie, viewers already know the characters from the comics, t.v. and the other 2 movies. But all in all its a great movies and one of the best Ive ever seen. Everyone should go see it its easily the best movie in the last year maybe two. Its a movie based on a comic take it for what it is a great movie thats fun and entertaining to whatch. Stop being so critical just because it doesnt meet your outlandishly high, ridiculous has to have some greater meaning standards. Im tired of people trashing good movies for no reason other than those. MSN fire your movie critic and people go see the movie you will enjoy it and have a great time at the movies.
