The director, cast crew on this movie deserve an Oscar. I was very skeptical about seeing this movie based on some of Oliver Stones early work. Mr. Stone did a tremendous job bringing this story to light as we all know it needed it. I believe he showed the true american spirit which is compassion, sharing and love. The men portrayed in this movie lived through what was hell on earth and so did their loved ones. This movie tells how someone lived through a horrible tragedy and did not succumb to bellittling others or blowing their story out of perportion to get sympathy. These men are true american heroes along with the other many brave and fearless service people who fought to help others that fateful day.

Once again...Mr. Stone comes to the table with something that might be really good (yes, theres always the chance that maybe it only looks really good). Well...WTC is great (aka...moving, thought-provoking, lingering, satisfying, ahhh...). The filming and editing of the falling (cracking, twisting, and so on) concrete and metal allowed for just the right perception of ...faliing concrete and metal-not too hot and not too cold. Actors were right on also. In the moment, in the the story, in the the character without being too heavy or too light. The story --a good one to be told. Even with a whiny toddler behind me and a couple of disgruntled (by the whiny toddler) viewers beside me, the good stuff came right through -strong. Maybe because life was present and moving right along during a film concerning the importance of life being present and moving on. Good job to all involved.

I saw this movie this week and I must admit I had reservations about going but Im sooo glad I did. What a wonderful, warm, heartfelt movie. I believe every one in the US should see it. Its not just about the tragedy of that day but the brave men and women who came together and took care of each other and pulled together and came through it all. Youll cry at some scenes because it makes it all real again but, your heart will also fill with joy when the men are rescued and the love for the families and friends shine through. 9-11 was a tragic day and one I hope none of us ever have to endure again but this will help people know that some good came out of that day as well. Everyday people helping other everyday people. Thats what the United States is all about. Most of Oliver Stones movies arent worth wasting money to see but this one is different and I have to admit it was a job well done.

Oliver Stone took the Terror and Horror out of the most horrific day of our lifetime and allowed us to see the inside of that day, not the outside. Nicolas Cage, Michael Pena and the supporting cast were truly superb. I truly felt like I was not watching Actors. Honestly, I did not think I was ready for this Movie. Like everyone else, 911 stays so fresh in my mind, I thought it would be really disturbing and disheartning for me. Then I remembered, on that day, I was glued to the T.V. watching every moment of that horror. If I could sit through that, why can I not give 2 hours and 5 minutes of my time to watch a true, uplifting story about September 11,2001. Anyone who can not decide if they should see World Trade Center, all I can say is, I am glad I changed my mind!

Posted: 8/16/2006A review of World Trade Center by Chuck270
The movie was good. Not great. I feel that it was not broad enough in the lives of other daily citizens in the WTC on that day. It only showed the stories of two families, and the police men. They ended up OK in the end. Thats great. But, I feel that they should have showed one of the families of someone who didnt make it out. Someone who was unable to escape, or be pulled from the wreckage. I just feel that it does not go deep wnough into the subject matter, and show you what else happened on that day to the other people. It only showed the very lucky ones who were able to make it back out. Also, they didnt show much of what was going on outside of the buildings, no footage of any of the activities outside. In my opinion, it was a good movie, not great, would not go see it again voluntarilly.

This was a great movie. For those of us home that day to see everything go down, all the news reports on TV and radio. Ill never forget that day. Especially when Howard Stern was on and the towers starter collapsing. That day affected everyone in a big way. And this movie brings us a different side of that day. This movie brought us on the inside of the towers collapsing. Im not a big Nick Cage fan, but he did a great job in the movie. And Oliver Stone did a fantastic job of making you feel you were right there inside the building and trap in the rubble. If you feel this movie was a waist of time and money, then you clearly are either not-american or are way too young to understand what happened that day.

To the American White Boy...I would say you are probably not who you claim to be. I have never heard an American white boy address himself in that way...so you are probably a wolf in sheeps clothing, and probably getting food stamps and welfare, and free college education that AMERICANS are paying for with their taxes, which you probably dont pay. And since you have a computer or access to one, and you are allowed free speech, even if youre wrong, and since you hate this country ,then go move to another country....and blast their presidents, or dictators, and see how long youll be able to have Free Speech... We are a free country because we fought for our freedom and since 1776 many Americans lost their lives for freedom so someone like you could spew your vile...Move to Iraq and call yourself and Iraqi white boy, you might just keep your neck for one week. This is supposed to be a review for the great movie WTC and most of the reviews are wonderful. Except for a few crackpots who want to spew stupidity. Everyone should see the movie and remember...

I thought this was an excellent story worth telling by someone I think could do a good job of it. Oliver Stone didnt go into dramatics or over the top political messages. He told a story I certainly had never heard before, meaning what those two guys went through down there. I still have no idea what it would be like and can only imagine a slight moment of how bad it really was for them and I thank God that they hung for as long as they so they could be rescued to give us all a little hope back that there is good in the world.

Great movie, great country! Simply to reply to the slang used by American White boy to review not only the movie but to spread his political opinions, get a dictionary and read it. Grow up son, love the country you are in though you may disagree with the powers that be. Love your country and have pride in what America stands for. The fact that men and women shed their blood for people like you to sit at your computer and type your pointless anger out is a testimony to the greatest nation in the world. May God bless America and may we get back to living like we did on September 12, 2001!

Wow. What an incredible movie. Even from the start it gets you thinking. Many people are complaining that Hollywood is raking in their dough. Yes, lets be real, they are making money off a catastrophy, but who cares? This movie is an excellent reminder of that day. It doesnt fill me with hate, anger, and mallice towards terrorists, but fills me with hope, love, and thankfullness for the American Spirit and our First Responders. Quit being jealous of Hollywood making all their money, and go be reminded of the FRs (First Responders) who courageously put their lives on the line. It asks so many questions that will get you thinking. Use wisdom with age on your kids for this one, as it is a tough movie. Some say this movie is a waiting game, but isnt that how it really was? Jesus Christ is portrayed Beautifully in this film. Thank you Oliver Stone!

Posted: 8/14/2006A review of World Trade Center by ChrisDunn4
Maybe centuries ago the american spirit was about love and peace, equality towards men, etc. (and we all saw how great that worked out) but in our modern times, and especially under the rule of such an ignorant, childish, fascist as Geoge Bush, the american dream has become one of hate and racism. Ever since the events on 9-11 the media and the government have been leading a war against a race, not a terrorist organization, we are no better than the @s, Muslims cant walk down the street without being stared at, they cant get onto a plane without being searched and spyed on, it is impossible for them to lead normal lives, they cant live here, theyll be tormented, and tey cant go home, bcause their land is in ruins, and on top of those ruins the good ol Star Spangled Banner waves proud and true. It deeply saddens me to see what our country has become, a land with no freedom, no equality, one thats controlled by a man who never once cared what his people wanted, and filled with people (like my fellow reviewer Reality Wins!) who can be so easily bought and sold by simplistic lies. Every great empire falls, and as sad as it makes me to say it, America is next, and were well on our way. @ America, @ the goverment, and @ the people who are too stupid to realize what our land has really become.

I think I speak for most everyone when I say that I can remember exactly where I was when that horrible tragedy shook the nation. Now, five years later, I fear what my 3 year old son may witness in his lifetime. However, this movie also showed me true courage still exists. I understand people not happy with this movie coming out only five years after the incident. On the other hand, the people of this country should know and understand what happened and, most of all, never forget. I cried my eyes out five years ago, and I cried my eyes out two nights ago. I dont believe anyone will understand the gravity of that event more than if they watch this movie. I myself will probably only watch it one other time, and that will be when my son gets old enough to understand the world he will face as an adult. Many people review this movie with comments such as, not enough action, moves too slow, etc. Take this movie for what it really is, a reminder.

I saw this movie yesterday, and I have to say, while it was well done, the real reason I loved it so much was the subject matter and how it was portrayed. The actors did a good job, although I think that Maggie Gyllenhal (sp?) and Maria Bello did a better job of bringing the characters to life and making you care about the people involoved. The real star of this movie, though, was the spirit of people in this country and all over the world after 09-11. This movie showed how moved the world was, and how the other countries all felt like Americans that day (well, all of the countries except for the terrorist nations). It was an important movie to see because it brought back a lot of feelings that I had that day... Intense patriotism, love for my fellow humans, and just more hope and kindness, because you never know when something like that could happen again. It just reminded me of how great this country was in the year after 09-11... No one gave people the finger in traffic, people were more polite, and opened doors for others, everyone was proud to be American. I miss that, its just a shame something like this had to happen to make people realize how great this country is. Back to my point, though, I thought it was a good movie that came out at a good time, when our pride may not be too high. Well done, emotional, not political. Good job.
