Its the story of a poor boy with big dreams who lives with his mom and his grandparents. One day out on the street, after he discovers that the last golden ticket was found, Charlie finds some money, LUCKY! From there, he learns that the last golden ticket was counterfeit. So, that gave him his hope back. After he buys a regular Wonka bar, he discovered that the final golden ticket was in it. Wouldnt that be anyones dream come true? Just thinking about it right now, as I write this, makes me want to cry. The one true reason that makes this movie such a memorable classic is all thanks to Gene Wilder, Peter Ostrum, and the chocolate. But seriously though, why did the people that made this movie, even let the people that made the remake, go through with the production? I think the remake made the Wonka business start booming, but I never got to see the remake, so I didnt like it. And honestly, I will always LOVE this version. Its kind of like a more lovable version of Cinderella. But, since Im getting out of town soon, Im just going to end this here. Peace out. Was this review helpful? It is a great classic about a young boy, Charlie Bucket. When a local chocolatier,Willy Wonka, gives five children a chance to fulfill their wildest dreams,Charlie strives for that special magic in life;He hopes to grab a certain ticket Wonka offers, that would turn a child's hopes into reality.

The five children, along with anxious Charlie, include Veruca,Augustus,Mike, and Violet. They embark on wild antics and strange adventures,as Willy Wonka tries to teach them lessons about greed, selfishness, and trust. We see a moral played out in this movie, that children should respect elders, listen, and not be self-centered. I think the film is a lesson in discipline, respect, and I do recommend it.

Was this review helpful? This one will have you dreaming of chocolate rivers and lickable walls, 3 course bubblegum and super fizzy lifting drinks! When you are finished watching this, go out and get the next book in the series, "Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator." Be prepared for a ride in the great imagination of your brain. This is a great video for the home library on a drizzly day. :) Was this review helpful? I am still to this day, called an extremly honest person, I help total strangers as well as friends and family in any way I possibly can and have looked far and wide for the owners of lost possesions.
Most of which I attribute to my parents strong commitment to Honesty and "Wonka". A good hearted, innocent little boy who's dreams came true. I am in my 40's and all my children are grown. My daughters had sleep overs and the movie I chose was you guessed it Will Wonka. I still enjoy it!
Was this review helpful? Gene Wilder is fantastic, and the children are pefectly cast. The story is fun..and the effects, although very 70's are well done. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-12 of 12 Per Page | ||
