Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  evil rules?Posted: 7/3/2005A review of White Noise by lama10222 White noise is a successful movie in that it disturbs the viewer and pushes him to think about it long after leaving the movie theater.However, that world created lacks balance: who protects the innocents from the attack of the three spirits (demons?), the blind psychic claimed that role but doesn't interfer to stop anything , especially that the persons attempting to do so end up brutally killed. Furthermore, the basic idea and elaboration of the film were promising but ruined by an atificial end, cheaply trying to impress by very used means. Was this review helpful? The only reason I give this 2 stars is because it did keep you engrosed. I kept watching it because i thought that the slowly rising "rising action" was leading to an awesome climax. The climax of the film was the most water-downed thing I have ever seen. I will give this film one thing. It knows how to keep you engrosed and how to make you want more. YES, I have see the movie, so my review will be truthful and full of opinion. Enough of my blabbering, I went into the movie waiting for a good movie, but in return I received crummy acting and a sorry plot line. A man's wife dies- in a peculiar way- and he can't let her go.. but from there it just spinning down.. WHY MICHAEL? WHY? If u want a few creepy moments that make no sense... go see this movie.. but if u want something more profound.. see something else. Holes in plot I could have flown a 747 airliner through. Flat acting, no exposition, several unnecessary characters that did nothing to propel the so-called plot. A waste of my time, and my money. I had read all of the horrible reviews and went to see it anyway. Am I glad I did! First of all, Michael Keaton is awesome, period. Second of all, this movie was really scary because this stuff could really happen. I liked it a lot, and suggest to anyone who's looking for a good scary movie to see...go see this one! After seeing the previews i couldnt wait to go see it. I loved the first whole half of the movie I thought it was great. But when it got to the ending I thought it was horrible. It was much like the Sixth Sense also, except twice as scary. Not as scary as the Ring, though. If you liked the Sixth Sense, you'll love this movie. It's about Johnathon, whose wife dies. Then he meets a man who claims his wife is trying to communicate with him from the dead. So the man shows him this thing called E.V.P. and he begins to conact the dead. Very scary. Very good. It even made me jump a few times. Yes -- a few scenes even had me covering my eyes... that is, until the climax of the movie. "White Noise" is a movie that starts out interesting and creepy, and is full of intriguing ideas -- but the plot has more holes in it than swiss cheese, and the ending was awful. I left the movie with so many unanswered questions, such as, what happened to that older guy? What killed him? What was the wife trying to tell the husband, anyway? What was up with the LAME ending? The movie itself is full of intetesting and creepy ideas, and even has a few scary scenes -- but you leave this movie thinking about what the movie was actually about. I expected a somewhat chilling experience similar to Six Sense. Boy was I dissapointed. Do not watch this movie or even rent it. Waste of time and money or both for some.
