The truth in deed shall set us free. Im amazed, but not amused, with the incessant political arrogance of some of the reviews that this movie has received. I suppose that these reviews are representative of those that are still in search of weapons of mass destruction victory gas. Keep up the good work Spike, and please dont let the world forget the travesty and injustice that was suffered by American citizens here in the heart of the Land of the Free the Brave. For those that oppose, Whats your vision? What do you want to see happen to the area, the people that were devastated by Katrina ? Do you people not want answers? I feel Spike Lee was simply saying, IT DIDNT HAVE TO BE SO DEVASTATING. You people that WERE NOT THERE, WHO DID NOT HAVE TO ENDURE ANY SUFFERING can talk all the crap you want because thats just what it is. CRAP.
Youd think that an area such as Louisiana the largest producer of natural gas in the country, and a major oil-producing region as well would be WELL PROTECTED, that the levees would have been able to stand. Things that make you go hmmmmmmm. Was this review helpful? He reminds me of Rev. Jesse Jackson, a self serving individual that uses minorities to promote himself. Democrats have been doing that to gain votes for years, which has resulted in minorities feeling like victims, thus, never pulling themselves up from their bootstraps and simply settling for government too provide for them. Never really overcoming racial discrimination which still exists because of this. That is why New Orleans has such a huge black (I refuse to use Africian American because it is a made up feel good term which makes no sense. Charlize Theron, Nick Price etc.. would be considered African American by definition?) population and they suffered the worst and the government responded horribly. Due to the Democrats making them victims and using them for votes they do end up as victims waiting for a government hand outs and then resort to stealling etc... when the government did not provide for them this time. It makes them (minorities) look bad to everyone again and then we need movies like this to feel sorry for the victims. Well I would have like to have seen a little more about families from other states paying for victims to travel and live in their house. Communities openning up their schools for the familys kids. It is American true spirit. Unfortunately the media only choose to publisize the few bad that took advantage of these good people. When making a movie, only show the truth like Dances with Wolves. That is what makes a good movie. The facts only the facts. Was this review helpful? After watching this film it was a new light on a dim story to were you only heard the bad. I am very hopefull that Mr. Lee puts the good in the 3rd and 4th act! The people that I had the pleasure to meet from New Orleans the gratatude that they showed us in Scott,La for the food, blankets, water and just someone to talk to. I think this is a very powerfull film that should be seen by all to show the resolve of people no matter what. And for the people that think that Spike made money had over fist shame on on you. I would be nice if they sent the complete cash-in to rebuild or to prevent. Now that would be a story to tell. Was this review helpful? I feel as though I am getting the facts. Fact is America may not be the greatest place to make a life for Black people. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-7 of 7 Per Page | ||
