It tells you that every one has an identity that defines its character. Another thing is that this movie tells you that family is the first priority. Was this review helpful? Its inspiring and heart felt. I've seen the movie probably close to 50 times and I've yet to get bored of it. Love it so much that it has inspired me to take a trip to London this year. Covers romance, status quo, parent child relationships, self worth, and much more. A definite must see! It's a chic flick all around, but for the guys...she's not so sore on the eyes either! Colin is absolutely delightful and fun to watch! It's a very quirky & entertaining film for people of all ages.
From first loves to finding out who you truly are, there are many good messages to discover from watching this movie.
Oliver James, who plays Ian Wallace, is a charming character who helps Daphne discover herself. He's co-starring Hilary Duff in the film "Raise Your Voice" coming out on Oct. 8th. Info courtesy of The Oliver James Fansite. Looks like an inspiring movie for future musicians. I would go out and buy it and watch it 100 times if I had the time. It has a very good story, one that affects me personally (she's a lucky girl to have such a great father). Of course Ian (Oliver) is really good-looking, but I don't like it for just that (on that note, the snobby guy does a great job being annoying!). This is a movie that makes non-criers cry, but it's not too much of a chick flick. It's a perfect movie for anytime! I really recommend it, especially for a girls' night out. Was this review helpful? It has enough funny scenes to make you laugh and a couple of scenes that make you cry and ones that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. It is very entertaining. Was this review helpful? Delightful watching for all ages. My grandchildren enjoyed it as much as I did. I was impressed with the way in which Amanda portrayed her character and Kelly and Colin were perfectly matched. Oliver James was positively charming with his gorgeous British accent. I would love to see a sequel to this movie. Anyone know if Oliver is starring in any other movies these days? Would like to find out more about this young man. (For my Granddaughter, of course.) Was this review helpful? While I've seen in him better films, this one was a good one. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 1/7/2004A review of What a Girl Wants by DareToDreame It was very refreshing to sit down and watch the movie - which had a romantic and humorous plot - that was interesting and wasn't choked by the usual cons of movies presented to us these days. There was no profanity and no nudity and yet (Yes, it is possible!) it was interesting and made its point. It was a very touching story of a young girl searching for completion by bringing her parents together. I loved her free spirit and her style. She dressed very appealingly (which sets a good example to the younger girls in our generation) but was never immodest. The romance between her and her boyfriend (played by British cutie Oliver James) was not excessive, but enough to realize the attraction they had for each other. And the good ending was encouraging - giving us the message that people can sacrifce and admit they were wrong and be forgiven. Broken families can come back together (if they so desire) and there can be companionship with parents. All in all, a wonderful movie. I commend the writers, actors and film makers. Job very well done! Was this review helpful?
