It was hard to follow until about halfway through. At that point I was able to establish the conflict and become partly engaged in it. However, what threw me off was the direction taken to end Weber's outstanding performance and then the appearance of Wendigo itself, which drew some distasteful chuckles. The film would have been so much better if the monster appeared more spiritually rather than physically, allowing the viewer to wonder if it actually existed. Finally, what really left a bad taste in my mouth, the ending, as confusing as it is, is followed up by the worst credit music for the type of somber situation the movie ends with.

This movie was a whole lotta nothing. If you'd edited the few minutes of vaguely supernatural stuff out, you'd have a poor man's Deliverance, and it might have held together a bit better if that had happened. As it is, this is a directionless horror, where the horror has to do with the movie being made in the first place rather than the genre.

The movie was building to a plot, so it seemed. I watched, I waited, it was over. It tried to connect the random with the spirit, and tie it into a movie with a meaning. The scene play was not the issue, but the overall effect left me confused as to what was really happening. I'm not sure if I missed something, I don't think a did. I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone, unless this review caught your curiosity.
