ummm, Ok, Einstein....whatever...
Too many people say that a)if you like the movie youre a pretentious snob or b) if you dont get the movie (as if theres somesecret to this flick) then you are an ill-educated rube..
Seriously, its JUST a cartoon.....
Its a cool looking movie and there are some interesting conversations that Linklater shoves into Wiggins lap as he wanders through this film.....However, take away the rotoscoping and the film becomes what it really is a bunch of half digested, beer-soaked Grad school lounge level table talk. I kept expecting Matt Damon to interupt with his now famous remark, of COURSE thats your contention, youre a first year Grad Student...
Anyone who thinks theyll walk away from this film with anything remotely approaching a better understanding of the ideas Linklater tosses into this mess is sadly deluded. The fact that its smarter than a good 90 of American films just reflected poorly on the 90. If a pretentious, clunky, regurgitated Philosophy 101 textbook as script-propelled movie is considered better, than the mass of Movies out today must REALLY be brain gravy. Was this review helpful? It is so deep and so inspirational that only a director like Mr. Linklater could do something like this. Very good. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-2 of 2 Per Page | ||
