Ofcourse, I am a fan to limited horror movies that contain the Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman. But the combination of the monsters in one movie was very impressive on Mr. Sommers behalf. What left the audiences confused was the past of the main character and how it was connected with the antagonist ,Dracula. I believe a good prequel or a sequel or this movie would definitely clear a lot of things up, and people's interest in this movie hopefully, would increase ever so slightly. Was this review helpful? From start to finish it delivers adventure and pure entertainment. Take it in the spirit in which it is intended and have fun. Some argue that it's a special effects overkill but what were they supposed to do call in the real Frankenstein, or teach actual vampire women to fly? Come on, there may be a lot but it's well done.So sit back, enjoy and let yourself be taken in by the sights and sounds of a hugely enjoyable movie. Was this review helpful? I didn't think that it would be all that great, but it left me with a rekindled liking to the old monster movies. They combined all the stories together quite nicely. The special effects were not too shabby, and the storyline itself was wonderful. I especially liked the "high-tech" weapons that Van Helsing had at his disposal considering the time frame the story happens in. I would recommend this movie, but would wait until it comes out on video. I like Hugh Jackman much better as Wolverine in the X-Men movies, but he did a good job portraying Van Helsing. The Casting was excellent, Hugh and Kate did outstanding job. The special effects in this movie were great. The Vampire girls I think stole the show, to go from three lovely ladies into three horrible flying bat witches was awesome. The developmennt of the plot was not to great but I do not want to be bored with long drawn out details this movie went straight to the action from the word go and it never let you catch your breath. I laughed and smile alot doing this movie and overall I had a wonderful time. The only downside to this movie was that Kate was killed off at the very end, although she had fought all through the movie. I did not like the fact she could do what she did throughout the movie and then get killed by being thrown down on a sofa. Sort of cheesy. Was this review helpful? It's not so ridiculously bad like some may say, but it's nothing Oscar worthy. It's a special effects laden movie that is supposed to entertain, not be logical. It's a wet dream for old school monster fans and also a treat for those who dig action fare, but horror fans keep away!
