This movie got me out of my seat and on the internet. I've never written a movie review - that's how much this movie affected me.

The story is life affirming and deeply tragic. John Turtorro, as always, is a genius. I can't say enough about Mr. Turtorro's performance.

Andie MacDowell, the monther, and Nathan Watt, the son, have some very touching scenes.

The uncles played by Michael Richards and Maury Chaykin are perfectly cast. Michael Richards makes a very convincing transformation from the Michael Richards we all know to someone much more down-to-earth. Maury Chaykin plays a genuine and honest character (much like his role of Bailey Pruitt in Mystery, Alaska).

The movie is both fun and thought provoking, while providing a view into a deeply toubled but brilliant and loving family. Now I'm going to find the book.
