Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  Stereotypical but totally awesomePosted: 1/4/2007A review of Tristan & Isolde by Anonymous OK, i expected this story to be oh-geez-it-hurts-so-much-huhuhu what the! it totally disappointed me! the love story is almost superb, to such height that reality seems to be umm, unreal but existing (DO I MAKE SENSE?) the poetry she reads adds to the spice, and tristans so-called-constipated-face is resistence for love, well OBVIOUSLY! truly an amazing film to the over-analyzing critics. What matters is that it is involved to something that is essential, and unfortunately forgotten, (GEEZER). Maybe some critics were disappointed not seeing light sabers on this one!

there was too much plot. because of the huge plot, there was no room to go into much detail and depth with any of the conflicts and relationships, including the main romance. it was almost like a sparknotes version of the story. no depth. My friends loved it but I thought it kind of stunk. The ending was kind of disappointing but they were staying true to the story so thats okay with me. But Isolde kept loosing her irish accent. One minute she is an Irish lass then the next shes an Aerican. And JamesFranco plz..he looked constipated the whole time. Hes not that great of an actor. RufusSewells performance was really good. I always like him though. The story was interesting though and there was alot of gore. But the characters really had no feeling and it got confusing at times.

James Franco and Sophia Myles are great in the movie. I love how they put history into the story. This movie is an epic love story. This movie is great but it will make you cry. I went to see it with my sister and I was crying so loud ( I am a crier). But even my sister who does not cry was crying and two girls behind us was crying. This movie is a movie that everyone should see. This movie is in my top 10 favorite movies of all time. I can not wait untill this movie comes out on DVD so I can buy it! Was this review helpful? It is set before medieival times of course, in a British Isles ruled by various local strongmen who called themselves king. Setting the story in its true time period however, does not necessarily revive a old and too familiar story a king, his faithful but horny knight, and an unfaithful queen. The only suspense is will this adulterous affair destroy the local warlords reign as it did for Arthurs Camelot. I wont spoil the ending. Was this review helpful? I was a bit surprised by the ending. This movie held my attention and was intoxicating. This movie is like going to Disneyland and forgetting what year you are in when its over. I am seeing it again and will most likely purchase the DVD when its released. The only thing I would have done is given this film a better title such as just a simple word or perhaps just TRISTAN which would have made this film more appealing to the general public. Since this film was about him, thus would have brought the female lead actress more to light I think this film is a sleeper hit.BESIDES I never take to heart Critics reviews, I have read Rave reviews about films and gone to see the film that was raved about and fell asleep. But I did find it totally frusterating(?) at times. PLEASE stop confusing the reaction of your hormones with actual acting talent. If you think JF is a super hottie (shudder), then fine... drool over him and call it a day. But do not perpetuate the fallacy that he is a great talent. Hes not.
This movie is horrendous, and as both a movie-goer and a movie-maker I happen to agree with MSNBC that there was less than no chemistry between the lead characters. Therefore, an epic love story is NOT POSSIBLE.
This film was a travesty - and the reactions its getting here are exactly the reason why we will unfortunately see more and more of this bubblegum trash instead of true filmmaking.
The O.C. with swords ... such a tragic waste of one of the most compelling love stories of all time! Was this review helpful? It had a depth I didnt expect. The love story between Tristan and Isolde was more believable and honorable than Romeo and Juliet, and I found myself completely drawn into the film. James Franco does and incredible job as the quiet, honorable, Tristan. I would recommend this movie to anyone, especially those who love romance and period pieces. It was really a great and lovely movie. It is such a great love story that you wish you were Isolde. It was very sad at the end, but what can you expect, it has been called the next Romeo and Juliet. It has a lot of fighting and passion! Sophia Myles did a very good job at playing Isolde. Not mention James Franco is such a hottie and a great Tristan. I loved him in this and in Spiderman. I cannot wait to see what he has in store! They did a great job of at making this legend in to a great movie. So I would definitely reckon this movie if you are in need for some loving. )

I saw it in a different way. I focused more on face expressions and the story in details then in general. I have a good eye for movies and if a movie can make me cry then its really good. I thought the actors did a wonderful job in playing these roles. I love the story and I love James Franco. He is so hot. Anyway overall this movie is worth seeing and honestly I would see it again if I have the chance.I love this movie so much. Was this review helpful? Apart from the killing i think it is a beautiful love story in a time that is so full of bloody battles, betrayal and cruelty.
