Wasn't as focused on the real stars the autobots and decepticons. I didn't grow up when BumbleBee was a Voltswagon so I can't complain about that. It's a little slow starting, but after a while BAM!!! Your in the middle of the action! One thing I dont get is the marine decepticon shootout. I mean come on!!! The decepticons could've just stepped on those marines. It was a great movie worth seeing, and not a waste of time. I just can't wait for Bay's next movie Revenge of the Fallen. I was not dissapointed. Fantabulous action sequences and AMAZING CGI robotic transformations. The action I expected(though it was way beyond my expectations) but Michael Bay's dialogue was witty and funny ,full of double entendres and I LOVED Shia's comically, frantic energetic performance. His dialogue and interaction with his parents(and even with himself as he talked to himself a lot in this movie ) were some of the funniest and most enjoyable parts of this movie. The film was not perfect but it had heart and LeBeouf's proves as he did in Disturbia that he's got that special "something"
I've now seen this movie about six times. Everytime I come across it on cable I stop to watch it.One of the best movies of the year and I hope the sequel proves just as good.If Shia LeBeouf is there I'll definitely be tuning in. I had to go see it and I'm glad I did. It's exactly what summer blockbusters are supposed to be. It had plenty of spectacular action sequences, mind blowing special effects, a good story, and plenty of humor due mostly to Shia LaBeouf's performance. The rest of the cast turn in terrific performances but it's Shia who stands out amongst them. As a kid growing up I collected the toys and watched the tv show with my younger brother. This film definitely met my expectations and although some reviews stated they thought it was too long at 143 minute running time. I didn't find it long or slow at all. I didn't want the movie to end. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, the rest of the Autobots and the Decepticons looked amazing. They were completely CGI characters but you felt as if they were really there. Director Michael Bay and the screenwriters definitely did justice to their characters. Although some of the Decepticons do lack character development since most of them are introduced late into the movie. Even with it's few flaws the films exhilirating action sequences and humor definitely make up for it. Besides Stardust, Spider-man 3, and The Bourne Ultimatum in my opinion Transformers was one of the best films of 2007. Was this review helpful? I was sketchy about the human interaction, but no worries, it actually flowed well. Two big thumbs up. Those who grew up on the cartoon will see great similarities in the movie with an added bonus of high movie technology. Transformers keeps you on the edge of your seat and delivers one of the best movie experiances ever to hit the silver screen. Wasn't a bit corny like I expected it to be either. Except Jazz ... he was so cool in the cartoon and he got treated like a b*tch at the end of the movie ... reminded me of the Brawn death scene in the first movie. But that's a whole nother rant ...

Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Great Movie, oh my god too long bla blaPosted: 7/13/2007A review of Transformers by NKD851 alright its seriously bothers me, when the first thing people rate the movie by is its length, this movie was straight up action, and thats what transformers is about. it was not like spiderman, superman, it was about an alien race, why are people complaining about robots being too big, if they werent big they wouldnt be transformers, they put humor in the movie by making it funny so whats wrong with that. and whats wrong with the robots hiding behind the house, they had a reason to, its called a story line,
yes action was blurry at sometimes but no where near everytime like others have stated. this by far the best movie this summer and this year so far, this movie was funny action and sad at times, so whats wrong with the movie, i really dont know, i enjoyed every bit of it, some people just need a reason to complain. It's quite subtle and it doesn't get in the way of an original story line. As for bumblebee - it was obviously a volkswagon thing, not a choice of the writers, I assure you (hello, did you miss the whole car lot scene?). As for megatron - again, it's just a way of adding to the story line.

We have some of the original cartoon on DVD and the original movie. We love to watch them with our boys. They did change a few things, but come on the few things they changed didn't hurt the movie at all! The fact that they got some of the original cast to do voices rocked! Like Peter Cullen as Optimus!
