Posted: 5/17/2006A review of Trainspotting by Britchick491
Well I am an Irvine Welsh fan (the author) therefore i was bound to love Trainspotting from the start. But believe it or not, it wasnt really completely in tact with the book. Very similar but the book had it been transformed completely into a movie would have probably disturbed and ran off a good few movie lovers. This movie may seem rather graphic and disturbing...but really it is explaining heroin use, drug use, teen angst, and mislead youth like no other movie has done before. It fills everything into one and the acting is remarkable....the actors playing these characters honestly seem to fit into the role. Ewan Mcrgregor plays the main character Mark Renton, a real junkie who is trying to kick the habit unsuccessfully at times, he is wonderful. Robert Carlyle (the full monty, formula 51) is excellent. He plays the psycho drunk friend that each of us have probably had at one point or another. Trainspotting is great for any age, maybe not for the too kind at heart, because it is a cruel subject. But definitely a great catch, and a movie that you should definitely have in your collection. Bravo to Irvine Welsh, i would love to see some of his other novels be transformed into movies.

No matter what you've heard about this film i guarantee that anyone who watches it and can understand English (Scottish!) will like it. Gritty, nasty and sometimes downright offensive it may be, but a true reflection of the dangers of how the idea of 'drug addiction' can be confused with the idea of 'having a good time'<br><br>Believe it or not my parents watched this before me and were singing it's praises for ages. "A film my parents like is no way a film i'd like" i told myself.<br><br>I've not made the same mistake since. <br><br>Us British like to say how amazing we are at acting, but this really does have some amazing performances. Robert Carlysle shows his quality as the scary yet strangley likeable Begbie. An absolute mental nutter who you'd despise having as your friend. Ewan Mcgreggor shows his class with a show that makes you relate to him very easily. The temptations of life and friends and why making the right or wrong decisions can effect everything.<br><br>A true great, and whilst not being exactly something the whole family can watch, view this with some proper adult film enthusiasts and you'll have yourself a good time.<br><br>Again to coin another British phrase "Not everyone's cup of tea" But none the less a doubtless classic.

Ello, I loved the movie, it is the best movie since I saw Donnie Darko, I loved it. Sick Boy was my favorite charactor, and I just loved them all, even the girl that was still in school. I loved how out of all of the people who had done herion for years, it was Tommy who got f***ed over in the end. I must enphasize that the movie is not for children, nor overly sensative people. I loved how Renton tried, honestly tried, to stay off the Smack, but couldn't, he did an amazing job of portraying his wish to stop, but his inability to. This movie should appeal to just about everyone, except to aformentioned kids, and overly sensative people, by noting that it got one bad review, by someone very sensative to the dark underworld of drugs. I loved the movie, and everyone else out there will too.<br><br>IGGY POP RULEZ

I choose to watch this movie again! Ewan McGregor is just terrific in his portrayl of the Heroine Addict. The movie is a blunt truth and im sure alot of people can actually relate to all that goes on. The outstanding acting performances help transform a pretty straight forward story into a screen gem. One of the best movies ive seen in all times is now a prized addition to my DVD collection :)

Trainspotting was sooooooooo good Ewan McGregor did a spectacular job playing a heroine addict. I think that i was to young (13)to of seen those kind of things on the T.V screen, although i knew what they were. And if i ever want to do heroine i now know how!

great movie...Ewan was amazing. Dark humor, depressive subject but very well executed. I read the book, which I also highly recommend (if you can get through the cockney)

Incredible, Ewan Mcgregor shows his true talents as an actor playing a struggling heroin addict. Great work of art. Definately one of the newer cult classics next to Hackers and Requiem for a Dream.

transpoting! Its not a movie you take your grandmother to see. But its one hell of a movie! It gives you a laugh but at the same time a hard hit at reality in the raw. Ewan Macgragor purly classic in this film, one of his best. i would recommened this film to anyone, NOT KIDS, who is looking for a good laugh and a little bit of drama.
