overall, this movie really opened my eyes to what's going on in the world..

Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful I really enjoyed watching this movie at home with a couple of freinds. Its great for the girls, but for the guys too. I shows a lot of reality, and even though most people who watch it think that it is an exaggeration that they are thirteen, but a lot of thirteen year olds these days are like this. I would not recommend this movie to paronoid mothers, it will freak them out. Was this review helpful? I'm in Grade 10 and stuff like that are just starting to become clear. I'm 15 and I've never drank, smoked, or done drugs. I think that Tracy's mom did a bad job raising her, cuz my mom raised me right and i've never been in any kind of trouble. Was this review helpful? And I can say all this movie did for me was help me to realize what a bad thing cutting and drugs and all that stuff is. I recommend it to anyone. Young, old...etc. Someone said they didn't recommend it to anyone under 17 but hun, the movie is called THIRTEEN the people in it are THIRTEEN. You go through all that crap long before you're 17. Trust me, I know. Was this review helpful? This movie would have been over in 10 seconds if that was my daughter, I woulda slapped the hell outa her and beat her till she's blue and black...that's the problem now...people can't control their kids that's why all these kids out her running round burning houses down and got a burnin private part. Yall needa go back ta beating kids...don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about child abuse. I'm talking about if it's 6 in the morning and your daughter is just coming home you backhand her so hard she forgets her name...not burn your kids with cigarettes and lock them in the basement. Like I said...the movie was stupid Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Thirteen was a very realistic portrayal of what it is like for many adolescents today. It was very well scripted, casted, and directed, although I don't think we could watch it more than once or twice. It did very good at bringing out subjects many parents wish to ignore. After watching it twice, however, it becomes overwhelming for someone who has witnessed many of the ups and downs this movie covers because it is like a flashback to the past. It was an awesome eye-opener, but is most definately inappropriate for anyone as naive as the main character, Tracy, had been in the beginning. Was this review helpful? Many older people think that this does not happen, but it does. I, myself, know many people who drink, do drugs, cut, and have sex, and I am only 14. This moive is a harsh reality that seems to be hidden from the adult eyes. I think anyone entering the teen years, leaving them, or parents should see this. The young actresses also did an excellent job acting as their characters. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 12/1/2004A review of Thirteen by Hott_Stuff_Babe_2005 I thought that is movie was one of the best independant movies that I have seen in a long while. It was well written and the acting from everyone was flawless. To those who don't think this can happen when you are 13, it can, no matter where you live, especially when you are trying to fit in with a certain group of people. Though, I would NOT recommend this to anyone that is under the age of 17, it was a wonderful movie. Was this review helpful? This movie would be a good choice to show your kids if thay are having problems with peer pressure and making friends. Was this review helpful?
