Date  Helpful Rating 1 out of 1 users found this helpful  Aliens, Demons, or Disturbed MindEveryone was afraid of the closet monster as a child, and Wes Craven the master of childhood nightmares has once again created a master piece.<br>The movies only flaw turns out to be the entity that makes it a masterpiece because The audience never knows what "they" really are.<br>There were subliminal messeages to the viewer of what that "they" could be. The question is left up to the audience to decide with two alternate endings. I definetly didnt like the way it ended. Movies that leaves things wide open takes from the movie. Once I think I have figured something out about a movie,its always good to have the character confirm the idea your suppose to get. Not leave everyone hanging to have different concepts of the movie. Again, I think the movie was good and scarey,but not including information such as, where did they come from, why did they mark you only to come back for you, was there a alternative for them to be defeated? As you can see I have alot of questions, this movie would have been slamming if it included all this information. Yet nothing, could atleast talk about the movie at the end, to make sure your viewers got the message you were trying to present.<br><br> Was this review helpful? Up to this point, nothing with Wes Craven had been as lousy as this movie... It's true the acting was indeed horrendous and the spfx a little fake. But the originality and creativity that was put into this film is truly admirable. Although it was weighed down by a silly PG-13 rating (more would have been more in this case) the film still mangaed to pull some shocks out of the audience and the film had some great classic scenes. The subway was absolutely fantastic and the ending was unsettling and terrfying the best in a very long time. The movie drags in the setup a bit and it could have been a lot scarier but what little tension it had was well built and well used. Overall the film gets 2 1/2 stars. Was this review helpful? You knew what was going to happenn before it happened. The ";monsters"; weren't scary at all. And there was a VERY VERY VERY poor story line. If you wanna see a scary movie go see THE RING because t has everything a good scary movie should have. Unlike THEY which ^*#$ed @$$. And the ending of THEY made no sence at all. I think they just ran out of money and decided that where it ended would be a good place to end...IT WASN'T...so take my advice and don't go see it!!!!!!!!!! Was this review helpful? Nothing is explained and i feel that i should have my money returned to me. At the end of the movie the lady(main character) gets taken to the monsters lair and that is the end of the movie. she doesnt kill them or they dont kill her and it is just the worst crap.
