There is really ONLY one other Disney movie that I did not like, that being Dinosaur. This movie did not work its Disney magic on me and my kids. We turned it off after the sewer alligators, we just figured it wasnt going to get any better. Was this review helpful? i am huge on Disney and their previous 3d animated films.
but this movie was so sub par compared to anything theyve ever done.
visually it was stunning, i appreciated the animation and imagery.
but the writing was BRUTAL!!!!
AND PEOPLE PLEASE STOP SAYING DISNEY COPIES DREAMWORKS
it is the other way around
Disney starts their projects first and Dreamworks steals their idea and pumps out a mediocre clone of the movie
A Bugs Life was much better than ANTZ
Finding Nemo destroyed Shark Tale by a land slide
in saying this, i was excited for The Wild because i was hoping disney would continue to dominate dreamworks and that The Wild would be superior to its competitor Madagascar
BUT
due to a weak story and cheezy jokes, The Wild lost in that round for me.
So yes.. if youre wondering which zoo creature gone to the wild movie to pick.. go with Madagascar. Was this review helpful? Well, then again, most kids are playing Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and playing with real guns. Anyway, I enjoyed it. I liked the character voices and the different animals and not to mention the clichés thrown in. (The alligators in the sewers! LOL) This is a heck of whole lot better then the trash that Hollywoods been putting out the last few decades. Well done, Walt Disney! Was this review helpful? The story was not very redeeming, I didnt enjoy any of the charaters,in fact I couldnt wait until it ended.
Madagascar was mediocre ,but I can sit through it again. Having a 7 year old who watches the same movies over and over, this is one that I will not buy.
From my 7 year olds point of view, she didnt particularly like it, she said it was kinda boring. Was this review helpful? Im 31 yrs old and took a chance to see this movie thinking if it would be strictly for kids.
But I FOUND IT TO BE DELIGHTFUL AND HILARIOUS. The storyline was cute. THE ANIMATION WAS FANTASTIC - the animals looked so real.
COMEDY CENTRAL - The Koala Bear stole the show - Whoever was behind deciding to use the English accent and creating the comedic writing material, Bravo ! Was this review helpful? The script seems like it was slapped together in a rush with very little real humor. Disney has also made a miserable attempt at a main song that they undoubtably hope will stick in kids heads. This movie just plain stinks on so many levels. My pre-school aged nephew was bored out of his skull after about 20 minutes. That should tell you something. I have seen many, many kids movies, and this is the only one I can truely say I dislike. Even Madagaskar had redeeming qualities. If your kids really, really want to see this one, wait til you can rent it. Its not worth spending more than that. Was this review helpful? Sign In 3 out of 5 users found this helpful MSN nailed itI laughed literally once during this film, and the only slightly amusing thing about the movie was trying to guess who was doing the animals voices. (Couldnt get Eddie Izzard right!). But Izzard and Shatner were the only ones who provided anything at all - pretty much everyone elses performances were limp and uninspired (though Richard Kind did all he could with the dopey Snake character).
Lots of impossibilities in the plot, though I guess you cant overly care about those in a kids movie. (i.e. a little tugboat makes it from New York to Africa, and back again on one tank of gas, piloted by a lion).

The farting leemer thing, if that is how you spell it, was hilarious! I thought Madagascar was the worst animated movie I have ever seen, at least this movie had a soundtrack! We loved the soundtrack, the music had very positive messages. The message between the father lion and son was touching. What you are is what is inside of you...be true to those feelings. Movie was boring. Usually I sit through movies like these for the sake of my 4 year old son, but he was bored of this movie too. He wanted to leave during the middle. That says a lot.
