This movie was a horror alright, it was hor-rible.
The plot was very predictable (to me anyway) and there was no horror about it.
Nicks character whether by the Directors design or Nicks, was an extremely one dimensional uptight person and at times made me feel uncomfortable...would not make a very good sales person (jk)
Over all feeling of this movie.....hated it, Nick must of owed someone a favor to do this one.
BTW, I saw Nick's profile and picture at a site called SeniorWoo dot com. But Im not sure if it is true. She's 75 years old, right?

He gets burned to death by his own daughter, who gets help from her mom and all the sexist women who live in the god-forsaken hellhole they call a movie setting. The point is, never see it. Only the biggest sexist women in the world would like it since the women kill all the boy kids that are born and let the girl ones lives. They do let some boys live, but they are all mentally challenged and uneducated. So plz don't see this. After this movie i felt like burning Nicholas Cage too. Was this review helpful? It was shocking and kept me on the edge of my seat, and by the way, Nicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors. So I'm watching and thinking of all these possible endings that could happen, excited and nervous about what will happen next, and then all of a sudden, the movie #$@#s. The ending is horrible. I seriously sat there and said, Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 7/21/2007A review of The Wicker Man by Disappointed_Critic This movie is, without a doubt, gay. The reason I say that is because of the colony that Nicolas Cage was sent to investigate for the disappearnce of his daughter that he never knew he had. And yet, you would think that he would have known how traumatic it was, especially being that it was an all female based community. Had it not been for Nicolas Cage, this movie would have been more gay than Titanic. I am not being blasphemist. I am telling the truth. The movie would have been more better, had there have been more testosterone driven characters than Cage. The ending of the movie is so bad that, when the movie is over, you will just stare at your TV, and say, That's it? If you saw the theatrical version, I hope you did get your money back. If you rented or bought the DVD, I hope you got a refund. Trust me, Nicolas Cafe was the only male character in this movie, and it is astounding that he dies a very graphic death at the end, but it is nothing compared to either Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th. Those two movies are 1000 times better than this movie was, is, or ever will be. Having given the general public the knowledge of such tripe, I am finished. Was this review helpful? This is one of many of Nicholas Cages recent movies that have been the largest disappointment in any actor in modern times. When will I learn to stop watching anything he stars in? He used to be moderately watchable in movies like ConAir and The Rock, but ever since its like his agent has been looking for every piece of crap script he could find to cast Cage in. I kinda want to see his new one coming out, The Rider, but why bother, hes in it that means its a poorly written script with little to no plot. I might rent it, but I think I read the reviews first. Something I should have done for this one. Wicker Man, what a joke. I think Cage needs a new agent. He can be a decent actor when he wants to be, I just dont understand why he refuses to take any real challenges anymore. Was this review helpful? I hope the people that gave this movie any more than one start...are not severely retarded. A move about a man who is tricked into being a sacrifice and then it ends? What freaking genius thought that up? Very original and creative. I would have to say this movie was as pointless as Open Water or Hills Have Eyes. Anyone who claims this is a piece of art has no clue what theyre talking about, nor how they judge anything as good or bad. On top of all that...if anyone chooses to redo a move from the past...make sure you incorporate todays interests and remake the movie based on the consumers interests. What sick person wants to watch a depressed, idiotic movie that doesnt even make you think much? Theres nothing to get out of it thats purposeful. Other than thinking the following, hmm, a bunch of sick anti-men women living together making honey and tricking people into being sacrifices. I think my day just got better, and now Ill walk around smiling everywhere I go. Fags. Was this review helpful? BAD BAD BAD BAD Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/15/2007A review of The Wicker Man by ConceivedAura I dont understand why people are giving this movie bad reviews. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. It does what movies are supposed to do....entertain you. Its a thriller with plenty of twists and turns in the plot. You want to see what happens next.
Bad ending? Um no. He just gets his in the end. Bet you didnt see that coming! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/7/2007A review of The Wicker Man by lovemovies1 They pushed the envelope with the ending in this movie..PG13...I dont think so. R rating all the way just for the end alone.. Love Cage and hes the only reason I saw this, but wish someone could have warned me and my entire family about the worst ending of all time. Left us all very angry.. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/7/2007A review of The Wicker Man by lk1616 If it were possible, I would have given this movie only a half of a star. Its quite possibly the most ill-conceived and worst movie of the past year. Silly and ridiculous, with slow pacing and bad acting, the plot veered from strange (it involves an oddball matriarchal commune covering up a possible kidnapping) to stupid once Ellen Burstyn put on her Braveheart-esque makeup and started prancing around with characters dressed as fish, bees and the like. Also, Nicolas Cage puts on a bear suit (no, I am not kidding) in order to infiltrate this group, punches women at random and has a big smackdown scene with a nutty Leilei Sobieski, and yells loudly throughout the entire movie. The ending - I will only say that part of it involves bees - displays some of the worst acting on the part of Cage that I have ever seen. I cannot possibly comprehend what possessed Cage, Burstyn and a number of other fine actors in the cast to do this movie, or how their acting skills managed to go so suddenly down the toilet. It was painful to watch, and is just a generally awful film. The only thing I am glad about is that I rented this on DVD, and didnt pay to see it in the theatre. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 1/5/2007A review of The Wicker Man by Staci713 The movie started off good with jumpy parts and a huge mystery at large but as the movie continues it gets more and more dull. At the end all you could do was say, what a terrible movie because its one of those stupid cult endings. I guess Nicolas Cage cant get any good jobs so he takes these movies to take up his time. Shame on you Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 12/26/2006A review of The Wicker Man by Anonymous without a doubt the worst movie i have seen all year. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 12/23/2006A review of The Wicker Man by cretsbabygirl Nick Cage should be ashamed of himself for participating in this film! Hes a great actor and this was well beneath him. The movie was very intense and full of suspense....but then the ending happened. Can we say....Color me Confused? My husband and I had already figured out half way through the movie that he was being duped by his ex-fianace Willow. We knew she was in on some scam with the other weirdos on the island. We could not believe the flimsy ending that was attached. After all Nicks hard work as a cop to find his lost daughter Rowan, he ends up being burned in a Wicker Man cage by his very own flesh and blood? A lot of unanswered questions and the main character is killed without being able to even put up a good fight? We felt like we had invested ourselves in the entire plot, only to have him easily killed within about 5 minutes at the very end. Weak and pathetic. Not a very smart cop he was, as we had it almost completely figured out right before he was captured and sacrificed. Im insulted! Dont waste your time with this frustating flick! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 10/22/2006A review of The Wicker Man by Anonymous The 1974 Wicker man movie was a masterpiece. The celtic music was great. The conflict between Christian and Pagan was great. It was new and fresh.
This 2006 Wickerman is the worst remake I have ever seen. Everything that made the original great was gone from the remake.
I have never been so disappointed in a movie.
Senseless and boring. Not one good moment in this awful trash. Skip this trash and see the original.
When this comes on TV, dont even waste your time seeing it for free.
