The screenplay is absolutely brilliant - Its rare to find a movie that is this well written. The directing is phenominal... the Weir has thought of everything down to the most minute details. I have been hard pressed to name any movie as a favorite but I have finally found it, The Truman Show is my favorite movie of all time. The sheer possibility of this movie in real-life seems to mock the media and the audience's unrelenting curiosity in reality shows. Keep in mind when watching this movie that the movie was created BEFORE such shows as Surviver and all those reality shows became widely popular. An especially phenomenal film in many decades of theatrics that will leave you breathless - A MUST WATCH. Was this review helpful? After the movie opens with ";interviews"; with Truman's director and costars, we see the movie from the hidden camera's viewpoints, then from the usual movie views, until, when Truman is reunited with his father, we are reminded by the appearance of the director Christof that Truman's world is artificial and its responses scripted. But we care about him because *he* is real. However, it may be at that moment that Truman realizes his world is artificial. A truly brilliant movie. I saw it three times. Was this review helpful?
