Date  Helpful Rating 0 out of 0 users found this helpful  The way it should bePosted: 10/19/2009A review of The Thing by sci-fifan9 No need for profanity, this along with" The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Forbidden Planet" are prime examples of America's golden age of movies. I first saw this movie in the early 60's and at age 55, they still are excellent reminders of the best years of Hollywood productions. Rarely will ypu ever find better films in today's industry. Long live the drive ins and sci-fi flicks of a time of innocence! Was this review helpful? I saw it when I was a kid and 52 years later it still scares me. It's one of those movies that you enjoy watching over and over. I only wish that they would re-master it and put it out on DVD.
