the cast isn't very popular, but the movie certainly gets high credits. it's based on real life killer Ed Gein, who's pretty creepy himself, lol.
the plot is not original, or it wasn't back then. now you know what's gonna happen, but back then, it was SHEER TERROR, lol. i do reccomend this movie, to anyone at all who watches movies, lol. That damn disk should be thrown out and get a new freaking one Was this review helpful? It was pretty funny and creepy. I give it a thumbs up!
P.S. I still cant figure out why hollywood had to do a remake on this film? Was this review helpful? Sign In 1 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 4/29/2006A review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by max45722 Marilyn Burns, Allen Dandier and Paul A. Partain star in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It tells the of
five young friends who drive to a graveyard to visit on of the friends grandfathers grave. And are Attacked by a Chainsaw welding killer.
Well you can tell from the title this wont be a pleasant movie.
Tobe Hopper directed this film, and I think to make a movie this graphic and this disturbing you must have a mind of one that is pure horror. Tobe Hopper had directed a horror masterpiece. The actors they got to play these roles Allen Dandier and Paul A. Partain this was there only movie. Marilyn Burns was just in a couple films in the 1970s and early 1980s such as Eaten Alive Helter Skelter Kiss Daddy Goodbye and Future Kill and that was the end of her career.
It tells you in the beging of this movie it says the events of this day really happened. There are some people who believe that the whole story was true, It was not true There werent five friends, but there was crazy man who did not have a chainsaw or were other peoples faces but did kill not attacked those young friends. That story was made up. It is not a true story. I think the director says thing like based on true events or a true story. To make the horror movie look better. And so that more people will go see a fell bad for these people who were killed and they dont exist
These really is a horror movie all of the other horror movies look up to this movie.
If youre a person who does not like scary movies you would hate this movie. If youre a person who likes scary movies you will love this movie. For people who see a horror movie and hide back in fear, this movie will have you screaming.
Most of the movie is running and screaming leading to the last half hour it is running and screaming.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the best horror movies ever made. It is twisted and disturbing a movie that will be looked in you mind forever. Was this review helpful? So many directors have copied off of this movie for other great ideas. Without the orginal, who knows where we could have ended up. If you expect the 1970s effects, then you will love this movie. Sign In 1 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 12/24/2003A review of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre by librophile When I first saw that movie in a theater, it was by far ...no equal... the scariest movie I had ever seen. What is so sad is that I have never been able to revisit since, those same intense emotions in viewing all the sequels. I even saw the 2003 remake. It left me absolutely cold. I didn't find it scary at all. It is like the intense feeling I got the very first time I parachute jumped from 10,000 feet. Afterward the Universal Studio "Tower of Terror" or any rollercaster rides simply leave me cold. The intense emotional thrill was gone. Nothing compares living through the first original experience. I envy those who have not yet seen this movie and who will for the first time, be scared out of their pants. Was this review helpful? Academy-award quality acting, especially by the members of the cannibal family (my fave is the slaughterhouse freak, but Leatherface and the gas-station older brother are *$#^ing awesome as well).

Rent it. Buy it. Watch it...with some headcheese on the side. And you will NEVER be the same again, after having watched this film.
