Yeah, call me a , but my heart was bursting through my chest the entire movie. It was much more sadidtic and depressing than saw in my opinion. It also had plenty of gore, so all of you sick bastards out there will like this one. As far as the storyline goes, I thought it was pretty good and it really let you get aquainted with the psycopathic Hewit family. I did find the ending sort of dissapointing though, but ohter than that I would highly reccomend this to any horror fan with a strong stomach. Was this review helpful? The Texas Chinsaw MassacreThe Begining ties up all the lose ends from the remake texas chainsaw massacre. If you dont have a strong stomach then i do not suggest seeing this movie. On a scale of one to ten, ten being the worst gore ive ever seen i would give this movie a 9.5. I think the film was very well done with alot of twists and turns and plenty os scary moments.. Its true to the genre but actually throws a pretty good plot in there too. The acting was also good. Very believable. I was surprised by this one. It had plenty of substance and gore. I get it. However, there were times when I thought some of the scenes were too intense and shockingly violent. I dont know how this received an R rating.
Of course, some scenes were beautifully shot and contained great suspense. Props to Ermey!!! At times, it was too much---and I am a HUGE horror fan. Its just not necessary for a good horror film.
I would have liked to have seen more of the backstory about each characters childhood. I found it insulting to diehard horror fans who wanted more of an explanation of the familys psychotic behavior. Wasnt scary at all! What is with movies these days, descent has been the only scary movie ive seen all year. Blood and gore is not scary, its sick. Shouldnt we be asking ourselves what kind of a person would pay money to see people be tortured like that, and then watch it again and agian.
